Launching in the Fall of 2026, Recess Hotel & Club will transform Savannah’s storied Manger Building into a new kind of lifestyle hotel and clubhouse. With 221 rooms—including suites and bunk rooms—plus co-working, a rooftop pool, a circuit-based wellness club, a French brasserie, and layered social spaces, Recess is designed as a “public club”: a private clubhouse for all. Locals, members, and travelers will come together to eat, drink, work, play, and connect.

The project builds on the momentum of Hotel Bardo Savannah, Left Lane’s flagship urban resort that opened in 2024. About the role

The Club Director is responsible for the day-to-day leadership, operations, and member experience of Club Recess, ensuring a vibrant, welcoming, and highly engaged community environment. This role oversees membership recruitment and retention, fitness center operations and programming, coworking operations, member events, and overall club activation. The Club Director fosters strong member relationships while driving revenue growth, operational excellence, and community engagement.

The ideal candidate is hospitality-driven, highly organized, entrepreneurial in spirit, and passionate about cultivating exceptional experiences that blend wellness, productivity, and social connection.

What you'll do

Membership Management & Growth

  • Lead membership recruitment, onboarding, engagement, and retention efforts for Club Recess.
  • Develop and execute strategies to grow membership revenue and increase member utilization.
  • Build strong relationships with members through consistent communication and personalized service.
  • Monitor membership trends, usage, feedback, and retention metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct club tours and prospective member meetings while maintaining an active sales pipeline.
  • Collaborate with marketing and leadership teams on promotional campaigns, partnerships, and membership initiatives.

Fitness Center & Wellness Programming

  • Oversee daily operations of the fitness center, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and exceptional member experience standards.
  • Ensure all fitness and wellness spaces meet operational, safety, and hospitality standards.

Coworking & Community Experience

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the coworking space, ensuring a productive, hospitality-driven environment.
  • Oversee workspace reservations, member access, amenities, and operational flow.
  • Develop initiatives and programming that encourage networking, collaboration, and community-building among members.
  • Curate events and experiences that align with the Club Recess brand and member interests.

Operations & Leadership

  • Maintain high standards across all club spaces, ensuring operational consistency and exceptional presentation.
  • Partner with hotel and property leadership teams to ensure seamless integration of club experiences and amenities.
  • Manage schedules, vendors, and operational resources tied to club programming and experiences.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to member feedback and operational issues.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in hospitality, club management, coworking, wellness, or membership-based operations.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience with membership sales, retention strategies, and community engagement initiatives.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
  • Passion for hospitality, wellness, lifestyle programming, and community-building.
  • Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and events as needed.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the property.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments depending on programming and events.
