BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB
This role is responsible for building and maintaining relationships that support community engagement, patient access, health education, and referral coordination. The coordinator helps promote pediatric services, organizes outreach initiatives and events, and ensures effective communication between internal teams and external stakeholders. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills are essential, along with a passion for improving child and family health outcomes.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education: College Degree
Degree: Bachelor’s Degree
License/Certification Required: none
Minimum Work Experience: 7-10 years of business development or physician outreach experience
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of healthcare operations, patient access, referral processes, and pediatric healthcare services
- Understanding of community outreach, public relations, and stakeholder engagement principles
- Knowledge of community resources, school systems, and healthcare/community partnerships
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships
- Ability to effectively present information to families, providers, community groups, and organizational partners
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and events simultaneously
- Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, clinical staff, leadership, and external partners
- Skilled in event planning, coordination, and community engagement activities
- Ability to analyze outreach needs and identify opportunities to improve access and community awareness
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and other communication or scheduling platforms
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
- Passion for improving pediatric patient and family health outcomes through community collaboration and education
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as a liaison between Dolly Children’s, patients, families, schools, community organizations, and healthcare partners
- Build, strengthen, and maintain relationships with community stakeholders and referral sources
- Coordinate and support outreach initiatives, community events, educational programs, and health promotion activities
- Promote awareness of pediatric services, programs, and resources within the community
- Assist with referral coordination and facilitate communication between referring providers and internal teams
- Identify opportunities to improve patient access and community engagement efforts
- Represent the organization at community meetings, health fairs, school events, and partnership activities
- Collaborate with physicians, clinic leaders, marketing, and operational teams to support strategic outreach goals
- Develop and distribute educational and promotional materials to community partners and families
- Track outreach activities, partnerships, and engagement metrics to evaluate effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities
- Respond to inquiries from community members, organizations, and referral partners in a timely and professional manner
- Support initiatives aimed at improving patient experience, continuity of care, and family engagement
- Maintain accurate records of outreach contacts, events, and partnership activities
- Ensure communication and outreach activities align with organizational goals, policies, and brand standards
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of community engagement and organizational growth initiatives

- Light lifting, pushing and pulling is required for 10-20 lbs occasionally and frequent moving of objects of less than 10 lbs is required. Frequent sitting with some walking, standing, squatting, bending and reaching is required. Keyboard/computer use and/or repetitive motions may be required.
