Staff Accountant

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Staff Accountant based in the United States.

As a U.S. Staff Accountant, you will play a critical role in maintaining financial accuracy, supporting operational efficiency, and providing valuable financial insights that contribute to informed business decisions. This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of day-to-day accounting activities, cash flow monitoring, financial reporting, and process optimization within a dynamic remote environment. Working closely with leadership and external financial partners, you will help ensure financial records remain accurate, organized, and compliant with U.S. accounting standards. The role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys working directly with financial data, improving internal workflows, and building scalable accounting processes. You will contribute to the financial health and long-term success of a growing organization while enjoying the flexibility of a fully remote work arrangement

Accountabilities:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date bookkeeping records across multiple financial accounts and systems.
  • Ensure transactions are properly categorized within accounting software and financial records remain organized and audit-ready.
  • Perform regular reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, and payment platforms, identifying and resolving discrepancies promptly.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow activities, providing visibility into incoming and outgoing funds and supporting financial stability.
  • Assist leadership with cash flow forecasting, liquidity planning, and identification of potential financial risks.
  • Review, document, and optimize internal financial processes, including expense management, billing procedures, and financial controls.
  • Recommend and implement workflow improvements that enhance efficiency, scalability, and data accuracy.
  • Prepare clear and structured financial reports to support operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities by maintaining reliable and well-organized financial data.
  • Collaborate with external accounting professionals during audits, tax filings, and financial reviews while ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and internal policies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience supporting accounting or bookkeeping functions for a U.S.-based organization.
  • Strong expertise in QuickBooks and other accounting systems.
  • Proven experience with financial cleanup projects, transaction categorization, reconciliations, and bookkeeping accuracy.
  • Solid understanding of U.S. accounting principles, financial reporting practices, and compliance requirements.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high levels of financial accuracy.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to independently manage priorities and deliver results in a fully remote work environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with leadership and external financial stakeholders.
  • Process-oriented mindset with a passion for improving workflows and strengthening financial operations.
