Engineering Manager

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Engineering Manager based in the United States.

As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a small, high-impact engineering team building core product capabilities that support modern, AI-enabled healthcare solutions. You will operate at the intersection of technical leadership, people management, and cross-functional collaboration, helping shape scalable and secure systems that directly impact user outcomes. This role combines hands-on engineering guidance with team development, ensuring strong execution while fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement. You will work closely with product, data, and clinical experts to deliver high-quality software in a fast-evolving environment. The position also offers exposure to innovative AI-driven technologies and emerging healthcare platforms. This is a key leadership role for someone who thrives in building teams, driving delivery, and balancing strategic thinking with day-to-day execution.

Accountabilities
  • Lead and mentor a small engineering team, providing technical direction, architectural guidance, and support throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Oversee the design, development, testing, and deployment of scalable, secure, and high-quality web-based applications.
  • Manage team performance, growth, and development while fostering a collaborative and inclusive engineering culture.
  • Partner closely with product, data, and clinical stakeholders to align technical execution with business and user needs.
  • Ensure engineering best practices are followed across coding standards, testing, CI/CD, and deployment processes.
  • Drive execution and delivery of projects, ensuring timely, high-quality outcomes aligned with product goals.
  • Contribute to architectural decisions and long-term technical strategy for platform evolution and scalability.
  • Promote a strong focus on security, compliance, and reliability across all engineering efforts.
  • Support cross-functional planning, prioritization, and dependency management to ensure smooth product delivery.
  • Encourage adoption of modern engineering practices, including AI-assisted development and automation where applicable.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including at least 2+ years in an engineering management or team leadership role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience building and scaling enterprise or consumer-facing web applications.
  • Strong technical leadership skills with the ability to guide architecture decisions and engineering best practices.
  • Proven ability to manage, mentor, and grow engineering teams in fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong execution mindset with demonstrated success delivering complex software projects.
  • Experience working in cross-functional environments with product, data, and business teams.
  • Familiarity with AI tools and modern development practices, including LLMs or agentic workflows, is a plus.
  • Startup or high-growth company experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Passion for building impactful products and contributing to mission-driven outcomes.
