Description:

JOB OVERVIEW: The Human Resources Business Partner is responsible for overseeing all human resources operations for assigned areas of the organization. Additionally, will act as a consultant on human resources management and organizational changes, ensuring the assigned area is aligned with Company goals. The ideal candidate for this role will have solid experience with HR practices and employee relations. Additionally, should embrace continuous improvement by expressing new ideas and suggesting solutions, considering budget limitations and our Company culture.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Executes assigned initiatives and activities related to Company established employee relations program to ensure adoption and maintenance of Company culture.
  • Assists with labor relations activities and keeps abreast of legislation and activities.
  • Facilitates communication among team members and management. Guides managers and team members on problem-solving, dispute resolution, regulatory compliance and litigation avoidance.
  • Assists managers with coaching and discipline, including documentation and termination meetings as necessary.
  • Enforces and assists managers with interpreting Company policies.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws. Additionally, responsible for proper record keeping and retention and participating in audits as required or assigned.
  • Responsible for educating team members on benefits and fielding questions. Additionally, responsible for ensuring proper enrollment into programs and supporting corporate wellness initiatives.
  • Manages FMLA and other leave requests; regularly stays up to date on those actively on leave and manages return to work; educates managers on proper processes.
  • Partners with Director of Risk & Compliance on workers compensation claims.
  • Partners with Director of Talent Strategy on activities relating to staffing management such as onboarding, offboarding, recruitment, performance management, and professional development.
  • Partners with Director of Talent Strategy on Company compensation program including managing annual bonus and increases.
  • Assists managers with preparing timecards for payroll processing, including the processing of bonuses and commissions.
  • Assists in the creation and analysis of reports, decisions, and results of Company and department in relation to established goals and metrics.
  • Maintains team member and department information on Company directory.
  • Effectively manages administrative tasks including data entry, filing and reporting.
  • Maintains an attitude and philosophy consistent with and in promotion of the Company’s mission and core values.
  • Participates in other projects as assigned.

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:

Ideally, 1-3 or more years’ experience in a related role such as HR Generalist/Specialist, HR Business Partner, or HR Manager.

PREFERRED EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or relevant field.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Excellent people management skills
  • Analytical and goal oriented
  • Demonstrable experience with HR metrics
  • Thorough knowledge of labor legislation
  • Hands-on experience with Human Resources Information Systems
  • Full understanding of all HR functions and best practices

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is generally performed in a warehouse environment. The noise level is moderate. Generally, well ventilated, and well lit. Warehouse team members may be required to wear protective clothing. Additionally, may operate heavy equipment and strict safety regulations may be required.

PHYSICAL EFFORT:

Work is physically strenuous and team members are required to lift heavy packages up to 50 pounds. Work may require excessive bending or stooping. Team members may be required to climb ladders, use hand tools, and/or use heavy machinery (e.g., forklift, etc.). The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Light duty options may be available.
