Summary:
Responsible for supporting production planning and execution by gathering, reviewing, verifying, and distributing work-related information, including specifications, drawings, and job requirements. Works closely with Scheduling, Production, and Project Managers to ensure work is properly planned, sequenced, and executed. This role reports to the Sr. Project Scheduler and requires regular interaction with production teams in an active shipyard environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret work specifications, drawings, and technical documents
- Perform and support planning activities related to production and project execution
- Assist with sequencing work and coordinating scheduling efforts across departments
- Monitor planning activities to ensure alignment with company standards, policies, and procedures
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Production, and Scheduling to resolve planning-related issues
- Perform daily ship checks to verify progress and ensure work aligns with plans
- Prepare and communicate planning updates, reports, and recommendations as needed
- Support continuous improvement efforts related to planning processes and production flow
- 5+ years of experience in planning, ship repair, or a related industrial field
- Strong knowledge of project planning, production flow, and resource utilization
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documents
- Experience working with or supporting production teams in a hands-on environment
- Strong understanding of planning processes, scheduling, and coordination across departments
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
