Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an AI Automation Specialist (Design) based in Germany.
This role sits at the intersection of design innovation, automation engineering, and applied AI. You will be responsible for building and maintaining intelligent workflows that connect design teams with modern AI systems, enabling faster, more scalable creative operations. Working in a highly collaborative environment, you will integrate APIs, design automation pipelines, and ensure systems run reliably across multiple tools and platforms. The role has a direct impact on productivity, creative output, and the way internal teams leverage AI in day-to-day work. You will also contribute to shaping internal standards for automation, safety, and AI-assisted design workflows. This is a hands-on, technically driven position for someone who enjoys solving real operational problems with automation and AI.
You will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining end-to-end automation workflows that enhance design and operational efficiency. This includes integrating AI services, managing APIs, and ensuring reliable system performance across tools used by design and product teams. You will also contribute to internal automation architecture and support the evolution of scalable AI-driven processes.
- Build and maintain automation workflows ranging from no-code tools (e.g., n8n, Make) to API-based pipelines
- Integrate AI services (OpenAI, Anthropic, and other models) into internal design and productivity systems
- Develop guardrails, logging systems, and safety layers for high-risk or sensitive workflows
- Monitor, debug, and optimize automation pipelines for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency
- Support internal tool integrations such as Jira, Slack, and proprietary platforms
- Contribute to the internal solution library by documenting and standardizing automation patterns
- Assist in maintaining technical infrastructure, ensuring uptime, updates, and system stability
- Write simple scripts in Python or JavaScript for data handling, transformation, or automation support
You bring hands-on experience in automation, system integration, and working with AI-enabled workflows. You are comfortable navigating both no-code platforms and lightweight coding environments, with a strong understanding of how AI systems behave in production. You are structured in your thinking, detail-oriented, and capable of maintaining reliable systems across multiple dependencies.
- 2+ years of experience in automation, AI integration, or low-code/no-code engineering roles
- Strong experience with tools such as n8n, Make, Zapier, and REST APIs
- Understanding of AI agent architectures and MCP-style protocol concepts
- Familiarity with LLM fundamentals (tokens, context windows, temperature, etc.)
- Experience building reliable pipelines with logging, monitoring, and error handling
- Ability to read and adapt existing automation logic or codebases
- Understanding of Human-in-the-Middle / Human-in-the-Loop workflows
- Basic knowledge of GDPR and data handling principles
- Python or JavaScript knowledge for simple scripting tasks
- Remote-first working environment with flexible arrangements
- Competitive compensation aligned with experience
- 20 paid vacation days plus public holidays and sick leave
