Job Description
We are seeking a Traffic Management Center (TMC) Operator to monitor roadway conditions, respond to traffic incidents, and support safe and efficient traffic flow. This role involves using traffic management systems, surveillance cameras, and communication tools to detect, document, and coordinate responses to roadway events.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor traffic conditions using cameras and traffic management software
Detect, track, and document traffic incidents and congestion
Dispatch and coordinate with service patrols and emergency responders
Update traffic messages, alerts, and traveler information systems (511/DMS)
Enter incident data and maintain accurate records
Communicate effectively with law enforcement, emergency services, and internal teams
Required Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and computer systems
Data entry and multitasking abilities
Technical aptitude and attention to detail
2+ years of TMC, dispatch, transportation operations, or related experience preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
Dispatch or call center experience
Experience with multi-line phone systems
Customer service background
