Job Purpose/Summary
The Portfolio Manager will manage client assets on a discretionary basis, consistent with the firm's Global Thematic Equity approach, as a senior member of the CCT investments organization and will discuss client goals, portfolio construction and investment performance with clients and prospects as an integral part of the broader client coverage team.

- Effectively manage clients' assets, including the management of an equity strategy which follows the Global Thematic Equity strategy guidelines.
- Maintain the integrity of clients' investment allocations, consistent with the Chief Investment Officer's Global Thematic Equity Model.
- Contribute to the CCT investments engine, through active participation in the macroeconomic and company-level research process and through forums designed to achieve a continued improvement to CCT's portfolio management practices.
- Assist in new client acquisition.
- Communicate with clients and participate in client meetings to address financial planning, estate planning and investment management.
- Participate in CCT sponsored client and marketing events to improve the awareness of the firm and seek additional new business.
- Communicate with the outside professional community (accountants and attorneys) to facilitate and achieve client wealth management goals.
- Work closely with Client Services and other CCT resources to obtain information necessary to maintain high client satisfaction and retention.
- Utilize the CCT Client Relationship Management System to document communication with and regarding clients.
- Prepare reports and analyses for prospective client and client meetings using portfolio management reporting and accounting systems.
- 5-10 years of investment management experience with proven decision-making skills, research experience and a history of building strong client relationships and delivering on commitments
- Bachelor's degree
- Understanding of the financial markets, investment vehicles and financial planning
- Advanced knowledge of portfolio management concepts and tools
- Proficiency with Bloomberg, FactSet and other investment tools and systems critical to the responsibilities of a portfolio manager
- Superb organizational skills, ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong client management skills
- Independent thinker
- Excellent quantitative abilities
- Excellent interpersonal skills and flexibility, including the ability to work with other staff members as a team
- Ability to initiate and follow through on projects
- Proficiency with MS Word and Excel
- MBA and/or CFA preferred
The actual base pay offered is determined by several variables, including, as appropriate, the applicant's qualifications for the position, years of relevant experience, distinctive skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held. Base pay is one component of Chevy Chase Trust's total compensation package, which also includes eligibility for discretionary incentive compensation, healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, bonus plans and more.
