We are looking for an experienced and driven Manager of Software Engineering to be a hands-on leader of an established team with deep experience and a passion for innovation. AI Fluency & Modern ToolingAt RevolutionParts, we expect team members to actively use modern tools — including AI-powered systems — to improve decision-making, productivity, and quality of work.
This includes:
  • Using AI tools responsibly to accelerate research, analysis, documentation, and problem-solving

Proven examples of using AI to improve outcomes in prior roles is expected.
Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Growth
  • Recruit & Mentor: Build a high-performing team by recruiting top talent and providing the coaching, challenges, and rewards that help "Revolutionaries" grow.
  • Cultivate Culture: Foster an agile, small-team environment that prioritizes both speed of delivery and high-quality outcomes.

Product Execution & Strategy
  • Roadmap Ownership: Partner strategically with Product Managers to own and manage a rapidly evolving roadmap that aligns with company goals.
  • Delivery Excellence: Drive the execution and delivery of product features by collaborating across functional boundaries to remove blockers.
  • Strategic Partnership: Act as a trusted partner for senior management to determine the best solutions, drive alignment, and implement decisions across your team.

Technical Governance & Effectiveness
  • Technical Backstop: Act as a primary backstop for your Tech Leads. Provide high-level guidance and collaborate deeply on the creation of High-Level Designs (HLD) to ensure architectural integrity.
  • Design Authority: Own the ultimate sign-off on major technical designs, ensuring they meet our standards for scalability, security, and maintainability.
  • Engineering Productivity: Lead initiatives to improve overall engineering effectiveness and iteratively refine development processes and best practices as the team scales.

Requirements
  • You've done this before—you have experience in a high-growth startup environment with constant change as your companion; 12+ years of total experience working on an Engineering team… with 5 of those years managing a team using an Agile development process
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or similar
  • Experience in a multi-tenant SaaS product development environment
  • Proven experience sourcing, hiring, and growing a software development team
  • Experience with frontend technologies (e.g. React, Angular) is a plus, and experience working with User Experience and Product teams to build great user interfaces
  • Smart, quick learner, proactive, comfortable working with unknowns and dynamically evolving requirements
  • Proven ability to hire, mentor, coach, and lead a team to success
  • Ability to motivate people, instill accountability and achieve results
  • Expertise in object-oriented design and implementation
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience leading and working with remote & Offshore teams

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience building APIs and SDKs is a plus
  • Experience with marketplaces or payments is a plus
  • Experience working with and managing cloud-based infrastructure such as AWS is a plus
  • Experience and knowledge of application development tools and platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, ElasticSearch, MySQL, Git, Jenkins, JIRA) is a big plus

*The salary range listed reflects the base pay only. In addition, this role includes a variable bonus structure based on performance metrics between 10%-15% yearly.
CompensationThe base pay range for this role is $157,000 – $187,000 per year.
