Job Description

Description:

The STEM Alliance is seeking a driven and relationship-oriented leader to serve as our Director of Program Outreach and Marketing. This role is responsible for growing earned revenue and fee-for-service contracts across our full portfolio—STEM programming, Summer Enrichment, and Digital Equity.

The Director will lead the charge on new partnership development, deepen and grow relationships with existing clients, and support the organization's government relationships for earned contracts. If you are energized by building relationships, meeting contract goals, growing program reach, and telling a compelling story about impact, we want to hear from you.

What You'll Do

As the Director of Program Outreach and Marketing, you will:

Business Development & New Partnerships

  • Identify, cultivate, and secure new fees-for-service contracts and partnerships across STEM programming, Summer Enrichment, and Digital Equity work streams.
  • Build relationships with schools, municipalities, community-based organizations, health centers, and other prospective partners to expand The STEM Alliance's earned revenue footprint.
  • Develop compelling proposals, pitch materials, and pricing structures in collaboration with program and finance leadership.
  • Support the transfer of new contracts to relevant team members once secured to ensure quality execution and delivery of services by the relevant program team.

Client Retention & Revenue Growth

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for existing fee-for-service clients, ensuring satisfaction and identifying opportunities to expand scope or renew agreements.
  • Track client relationships, contract terms, and renewal timelines to proactively manage retention.
  • Set and monitor annual revenue growth targets for fee-for-service programming in collaboration with the Chief Visionary Officer and Managing Directors.
  • Analyze client and program data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for growth.

Government & Public Sector Relations

  • Support the development and maintenance of relationships with government partners and funders relevant to STEM programming and Digital Equity contracts.
  • Represent The STEM Alliance at relevant government, coalition, and community meetings and conferences as needed.
  • Assist leadership in preparing materials and talking points for government-facing meetings and presentations.

Marketing & Communications

  • Partner with the Communications team to develop marketing and storytelling materials that support business development efforts, including one-pagers, case studies, and outcome summaries for prospective and current clients.
  • Ensure messaging around fee-for-service offerings is current, compelling, and consistent across STEM programming and Digital Equity.

Cross-Departmental Collaboration

  • Work closely with our Chief Program Officer to align business development priorities with program capacity and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Operations Officer and the Director of Finance on contract pricing, budgeting, and revenue forecasting.

What You Bring

We're looking for a collaborative, entrepreneurial leader who:

  • Has a track record of securing and growing contracts, partnerships, or fee-for-service revenue, ideally in a nonprofit, education, or community services setting.
  • Is a confident, persuasive communicator who builds trust quickly with funders, government officials, and community partners.
  • Can manage a pipeline of prospects and relationships across multiple program lines at once.
  • Is comfortable interpreting data and financial terms to inform pricing and growth strategy.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment and can balance relationship-building with follow-through on deliverables.
Requirements:
  • At least 3 years of experience in business development, partnerships, sales, or a related field; 5+ years preferred.
  • Demonstrated success securing new contracts, grants, or fee-for-service revenue.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including proposal and pitch development.
  • Comfort with Google Workspace and CRM or pipeline-tracking tools.
  • Experience supporting or managing budgets tied to earned revenue or contracts.

Bonus if you:

  • Have experience with government contracts or public sector relationship management.
  • Have an established network of contacts in the education or community-based space in Westchester and/or wider New York area.
  • Have familiarity with STEM education, digital equity, or workforce development fields.
  • Speak Spanish or another language commonly spoken in our service communities.
  • Familiarity with Canva for designing assets such as one-pagers and presentation decks.

What We Offer

  • A central office in Mamaroneck, near Metro-North and walkable to shops and cafes
  • A collaborative culture that values empathy, innovation, and inclusion
  • Paid time off
  • Employer-contributed health insurance
  • Professional development and networking opportunities across New York State
  • Flexible scheduling, with occasional evenings or weekends depending on program and client needs

Salary range: $65,000–$79,000, commensurate with experience
