Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a wide range of skilled maintenance duties, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, equipment servicing, and routine facility upkeep. This role is essential in ensuring a safe, efficient, and well-maintained environment by responding promptly to service requests, conducting preventive maintenance, and collaborating with the maintenance team to consistently uphold facility standards.

Where you will work – Gruene, TX

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES??

  • Perform routine equipment maintenance (e.g., changing air filters).
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment issues, such as HVAC and small machinery.
  • Conduct minor facility repairs (e.g., window repairs, floor patching).
  • Set up and take down tents, tables, and chairs for events.
  • Rebuild and repair wooden tables as needed.
  • Complete miscellaneous tasks assigned by the Maintenance and Facilities Manager.
  • Clean and maintain daily tools.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of Gruene Hall and the town parking lot.

ACCOUNTABILITIES AND PERFORMANCE MEASURES?

  • Maintain an average response time of 10 minutes or less during scheduled working hours for service and support requests.
  • Maintain 100% compliance with applicable safety and environmental regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Strive for a 100% first-time repair completion rate, ensuring repairs are completed accurately and effectively without requiring additional corrective work.

What you bring - minimum qualifications

Required:

  • 2+ years of maintenance experience, with a focus on plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work in various conditions, and handle physically demanding tasks.
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools.

Preferred:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with technical training in plumbing, electrical, or carpentry.
  • Relevant certifications in plumbing, electrical, or carpentry.

Physical requirements and working conditions

  • Available to work weekends, holidays, early hours, and occasional overtime for emergencies.
  • Consistent use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Prioritize safety for self and others in all tasks.
  • Frequent physical activities: lifting, carrying, bending, reaching, squatting, climbing, and walking.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs. independently; over 50 lbs. with assistance.
  • Comfortable climbing stairs and ladders.
  • Ability to operate equipment (e.g., pressure washers, large vacuums, power tools).
  • Physical demands include standing, lifting, and working in various environmental conditions.
