Title: General Labour/ Packhouse Labour

Reports to: Production Supervisor and Manager at Mucci Pac Ltd.

Based at: Mucci Farms, Kingsville, ON (various locations under the Mucci Farms name)

Type of Employment: Full time, permanent, 6-days a week, steady day or afternoon shift or rotating shifts (days and afternoons), and potentially extended hours depending on workload and priorities; which could include possible Sunday shifts (unless stipulated otherwise in offer of employment).

Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• Grade, sort and package produce (cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers and eggplant) per customer specifications
• Assemble, line and pad cartons and containers per customer specifications
• Examine and inspect containers, materials, and products to ensure that packing specifications are met
• Record time studies of completed jobs by the Repack team
• May enter data into the Famous system and record on the paper accurately
• Verified the allocation after the input come to the line
• Tag the output and clean up the paperwork properly
• Take right sticker and label verify label sheet from label room
• Keep workstations, equipment, and surrounding areas clean and organized to meet sanitation and hygiene standards
• The use of handheld tools may be required per customer specifications
• Ensure all information is complete and accurate
• To meet and exceed all work standards based on policies, practices and procedures
• Send inquiry emails and to do list in timely manner
• Stay with your line overtime if require
• Communicate accurately with line leader, input driver, label room clerk, quality inspector, allocator etc.
• Perform cleaning and other duties as assigned in a Greenhouse environment
• Maybe asked to complete other duties based on skills and qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Follow all safety, quality, and production requirements for either the packhouse or greenhouse environments, including wearing the proper Personal Protective Equipment, (PPE)
• Ability to communicate effectively (written/oral and spoken) in English
• Strong understanding of production needs of produce (i.e. cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers and eggplant)
• Time management: the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
• Professional and positive attitude
• Attention to details
• Excellent attendance
• Accurate data input

Physical Abilities:

• Must be able to sit, stand, and/or walk for extended periods of time
• Must be able to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with body, arms, and/or legs
• Must be able to lift material regularly up to 14 kg / 30 lbs; and occasionally up to 23 kg / 50lbs
• Must be able to climb stairs and stand on feet for an extended period of time
• Must be able to work in a temperature-controlled environment of approximately 13 ˚C / 55 ˚F for packhouse environment
• Must be able to work in a temperature-controlled environment of approximately 21°C – 28°C (70°F – 82°F)
• Ability to work in a greenhouse environment with live plants, including exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and natural elements
• Must be comfortable working in close proximity to pollination bees and other beneficial insects
