Location: Newcastle, WY | Department: Dietary | FLSA: Non-Exempt | Reports to: Food and Beverage Director

- Prepare and cook food according to standardized recipes and diet orders, with attention to quality and presentation
- Support efficient kitchen operations by keeping dietary areas clean, organized, and well stocked throughout the shift
- Complete required temperature logs and follow safe food handling, labeling/dating, and storage practices (including raw meat/poultry storage)
- Follow daily/weekly/monthly cleaning schedules for food service equipment
- Assemble patient trays, load carts, and assist with meal delivery service as needed
- Verify tray accuracy against menu selections and clarify unclear or missing diet orders with nursing
- Provide prompt, courteous customer service to patients, residents, visitors, and staff
- Coordinate with the Dietary Manager, nursing, and other departments to keep service running smoothly
- Assist with training and ongoing support for Dietary team members
- Follow infection control practices, safety precautions, and accreditation/compliance standards
- High school diploma or equivalent
- ServSafe Certification (preferred)
- Knowledge of dietary terminology and processes or the ability to learn and retain quickly
- Strong communication skills and a service-focused attitude
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
- Ability to work independently with normal supervision and use good judgment
- Professionalism and commitment to confidentiality
- Work is performed in kitchen and dietary service areas; must be able to navigate all departments as needed
- Position requires light to moderate work, including reaching, bending, stooping, and handling objects
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to communicate effectively (talk/hear) and perform tasks requiring close attention to detail (see)
- Occasional after-hours calls may occur
