SUMMARY
The Safe Kids Anderson County student internship is designed for current undergraduate or graduate students pursuing degrees in public health, human development, or related fields. This paid internship is ideal for individuals who are passionate about child safety, motivated to contribute to community injury prevention, and eager to apply public health principles in real-world settings.
The internship includes a blend of on-site, hybrid, and remote work, with opportunities to support home safety, play safety, and road safety initiatives. Interns will engage in program development, community outreach, education, research, and awareness efforts.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Coordinate meeting logistics; attend meetings and planning sessions with agencies, partners, and coalition members
· Participate in the development of health education/promotion materials, tools, and campaigns
· Assist with outreach to Safe Kids Anderson County coalition partners and community groups
· Provide administrative support and assist with data organization and reporting
· Assist in producing documents, tables, graphs, and presentations
· Support the completion of grant deliverables and reporting requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
· Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in public health, human development, or a related field
· Bilingual preferred (Spanish/English highly valued)
· Demonstrated passion for child safety and community injury prevention
· Self-driven with the ability to work independently, on-site, hybrid, or remote as needed
· Strong leadership, interpersonal, project management, and time-management skills
· Excellent verbal and written communication
· Detailoriented with creativity and the ability to generate innovative ideas
· Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint; familiarity with data management tools preferred
