Job Description
We are seeking an ambitious, entrepreneurial, and results-driven Agent Aspirant to join our agency team. This position is designed for a high-performing professional who wants to build a career in insurance and financial services while developing the sales, leadership, business development, and operational skills necessary to pursue future agency ownership.
The Agent Aspirant will work directly with the Agent and agency leadership to learn all aspects of running a successful insurance agency. This includes new customer acquisition, relationship management, insurance and financial services conversations, team development, marketing, sales management, and agency operations.
This is not simply a sales position. It is a development opportunity for someone who ultimately wants to lead a team, build a business, and take ownership of their professional and financial growth.
Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Business DevelopmentGenerate new business through outbound prospecting, referrals, lead follow-up, networking, and relationship development.
Conduct needs-based conversations to identify customers' insurance and financial protection needs.
Develop and present appropriate insurance solutions based on customer needs and eligibility.
Identify opportunities across auto, homeowners, renters, life, health, and other available insurance and financial products.
Consistently achieve established activity, sales, and production goals.
Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline.
Develop referral relationships and identify opportunities to expand the agency's presence in the community.
Follow up consistently with prospects and existing customers to deepen relationships and uncover additional needs.
Build long-term relationships with customers through professional, needs-focused conversations.
Conduct insurance and protection reviews to identify potential coverage gaps.
Educate customers about available insurance products and protection strategies.
Provide a professional and consistent customer experience.
Work collaboratively with the agency team to resolve customer needs and maintain strong relationships.
The Agent Aspirant will receive increasing exposure to agency leadership responsibilities, including:
Participating in team meetings and sales coaching.
Learning how to establish and manage team production goals.
Helping motivate and support team members.
Participating in sales role-playing and skill development.
Learning how to coach team members on prospecting, sales conversations, and follow-up.
Developing effective communication, accountability, and leadership skills.
Learning how to evaluate individual and team performance.
Assisting with onboarding and development of new team members as appropriate.
The Agent Aspirant will learn the business side of operating an insurance agency, including:
Agency production and performance metrics.
Lead generation and marketing strategies.
Customer acquisition and retention.
Sales pipeline management.
Staffing and team development.
Business planning and goal setting.
Office workflow and operational processes.
Managing expenses and understanding agency economics.
Creating systems that support consistent agency growth.
This is a goal-oriented and performance-driven position. The Agent Aspirant will be expected to demonstrate consistent results in areas such as:

Performance will be reviewed regularly, and coaching will be provided to help the Agent Aspirant continue progressing toward greater responsibility.

CompensationThe position offers base compensation plus commission and performance-based bonus opportunities.

Development PathThe Agent Aspirant position is intended to provide progressive development in four key areas:
Phase 1 – Master the Sales Process
Develop strong prospecting, needs discovery, quoting, presentation, closing, and follow-up skills while demonstrating consistent personal production.
Phase 2 – Master Customer Development
Learn how to build deeper customer relationships, conduct comprehensive insurance reviews, identify protection gaps, generate referrals, and develop a strong book of relationships.
Phase 3 – Develop Leadership Skills
Begin assisting with team development, coaching, accountability, sales meetings, onboarding, and performance management.
Phase 4 – Learn to Run the Business
Develop an understanding of recruiting, staffing, marketing, budgeting, business planning, operational management, team leadership, and agency growth strategies.
The objective is to develop a well-rounded insurance professional who understands not only how to sell, but also how to lead people and operate a successful business.
