Pay: Starting at $29 per hour, depending on experience

We partner with creative agencies and brands nationwide to design, engineer, fabricate, and install custom environments for retail spaces, special events, and experiential marketing activations. Every project is unique—and we rely on talented, hands-on builders to bring these ideas to life.

Position Overview:

We’re looking for a skilled and dependable Cabinet Maker to join our fabrication team. This is a full-time, permanent position focused on the construction of custom cabinets, millwork, fixtures, displays, and other specialty wood components for retail, events, experiential marketing, and custom fabrication projects.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of professional cabinet-making experience, strong attention to detail, excellent woodworking skills, and the ability to work independently while also collaborating with project managers and other members of the fabrication team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build custom cabinets, casework, millwork, displays, and specialty wood components from start to finish
  • Must be able to drive themselves to Los Angeles and other job locations
  • Read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, sketches, and work orders
  • Accurately measure, cut, assemble, and install cabinet components
  • Operate woodworking machinery and power tools safely and efficiently
  • Work with materials including plywood, MDF, hardwoods, laminates, veneers, and other sheet goods
  • Perform precise joinery, assembly, and finish work
  • Install hardware, hinges, slides, doors, drawers, and other cabinet components
  • Ensure finished work meets project specifications and Rock Steady’s quality standards
  • Troubleshoot construction and fabrication issues and make adjustments as needed
  • Collaborate with project managers, designers, engineers, carpenters, and other shop team members
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Meet project deadlines while maintaining a high level of craftsmanship
  • Assist with installation and finishing of fabricated pieces at job sites as needed
Requirements: Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years of professional cabinet-making experience required
  • Strong understanding of cabinet construction, woodworking, and millwork techniques
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and technical instructions
  • Proficient with woodworking tools and equipment including table saws, track saws, routers, drills, sanders, and other shop machinery
  • Strong measuring and math skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently
  • Ability to produce clean, accurate, high-quality finished work
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license required
  • Must have and maintain a personal set of basic hand tools
  • Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs and working on ladders or at heights when required
  • Experience in custom fabrication, retail displays, scenic fabrication, trade shows, events, or experiential marketing is a plus
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to work as part of a team

Schedule:

  • Monday–Friday
  • 8-hour shifts
  • Occasional weekends or overtime depending on project needs
  • In-person, on-site in Long Beach, CA
