The Center for Predictive Analytics (C-PAN) at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) is committed to fostering the pursuit of multidisciplinary scholarly research that is supported by data-driven insights. In response to this mission, C-PAN is soliciting applications for three analyst positions that will support quantitative and mixed methods data analysis, program evaluation, data acquisition and curation, and secure data handling strategies across the SIUE campus. Specifically, the individuals hired for these positions will assist faculty members across the SIUE campus in carrying out the analytical and data-intensive portions of their projects. The positions cover the various aspects of mixed methods analysis, policy and resource analysis, experimental design, quantitative data analysis, and secure data management and processing. Mixed Methods Data Analyst
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline or a quantitatively-intensive social science field.
- At least 6 months of experience teaching in a classroom or online learning environment.
- Knowledge of experimental design and analysis, natural language processing, and discriminative and generative artificial intelligence models.
- At least 1 year of experience working with R, Python, or SAS.
- At least 6 months of experience serving as an instructor for traditional or non-traditional/alternative credentialing programs (e.g., microcredentials).
- Knowledge of secure data handling procedures for confidential and anonymous data.
Desired Skills
- Master’s degree or higher in a related discipline.
- Demonstrated knowledge of student-centered educational practices.
- Fluency in R, Python, or SAS.
Policy and Capital Resources Data Analyst
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography/GIS, Environmental Sciences, Political Science, Public Policy, or a similar discipline with experience in geospatial analysis and policy analysis.
- At least one year of experience working with GIS tools.
- Experience working with geographical analyses with human, policy, and/or geopolitical components.
- Experience aggregating data from multiple databases into a unified source for analysis.
Desired Skills
- Master’s degree or higher in related discipline.
- Knowledge of experimental design and analysis, natural language processing, and discriminative and generative artificial intelligence models.
- At least one year of experience working with Python or R.
- Knowledge of secure data handling procedures for confidential and anonymous data.
Quantitative Data Analyst and Automation Specialist
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM or quantitatively-intensive discipline.
- At least 6 months of experience creating automated workflows in Power Automate.
- Knowledge of experimental design and analysis, natural language processing, and discriminative and generative artificial intelligence models.
- At least 6 months’ experience working with Python, R, or SAS.
- Experience aggregating data from multiple databases into a unified source for analysis.
Desired Skills
- Master’s degree or higher in related discipline.
- Fluency in Python, R, or SAS.
- At least 1 year of experience working with GIS tools.
- Experience creating AI agents for targeted applications.
- Knowledge of secure data handling procedures and data management protocols.
