This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Primary Market Research (Pharma/Lifesciences) based in India.
This role offers the opportunity to lead high-impact primary market research initiatives across the pharmaceutical, healthcare, and lifesciences sectors. You will work closely with global clients and cross-functional stakeholders to turn complex business questions into meaningful customer and market insights. The position combines quantitative and qualitative research, advanced analytics, and emerging AI/ML capabilities to support commercial and strategic decision-making. You will independently manage multiple research projects while guiding Analysts and Senior Analysts to deliver high-quality outcomes. The role also provides exposure to senior stakeholders, business development initiatives, and thought leadership activities. You will operate in a collaborative, international environment where innovation, automation, and continuous learning are strongly encouraged.
- Lead multiple Primary Market Research projects independently, managing project scope, timelines, quality, documentation, and delivery while ensuring agreed service levels are met.
- Manage day-to-day communication with client stakeholders, providing clear updates on project progress, milestones, risks, bottlenecks, and recommended actions.
- Partner with stakeholders across markets, countries, and business segments to translate strategic business questions into effective survey and interview questions.
- Design quantitative surveys, qualitative interview guides, and research methodologies that capture meaningful customer opinions, behaviors, perceptions, and experiences.
- Develop research designs covering customer segmentation, sample sizes, representation, and universe coverage to ensure robust and reliable research outcomes.
- Coordinate with external market research vendors to ensure accurate, timely, and high-quality data collection.
- Develop analysis plans for survey and interview data and translate findings into actionable insights aligned with business objectives and marketing ROI.
- Conduct competitor and market analysis to identify performance gaps, emerging opportunities, competitive advantages, and areas for improvement.
- Perform wave-over-wave analysis across customer surveys and in-depth interviews to identify changes in customer perceptions, behaviors, and competitive performance over time.
- Collaborate with advanced analytics teams to identify opportunities to apply AI/ML and automation to optimize Primary Market Research processes.
- Develop analytical and AI-enabled solutions supporting pharmaceutical sales, marketing, and commercial operations.
- Contribute to proposals, RFP responses, RFQs, and other business development initiatives across multiple client engagements.
- Manage and mentor small teams of Analysts and Senior Analysts, supporting their development, knowledge-sharing, and understanding of Primary Market Research methodologies.
- Drive automation through reusable code, AI-assisted workflows, scalable analytics solutions, and standardized processes.
- Build and maintain knowledge repositories, reusable assets, SOPs, and quality frameworks to improve delivery efficiency and consistency.
- Develop new analytical capabilities, identify opportunities for growth, and contribute to organizational capability-building initiatives.
- Contribute to whitepapers, thought leadership, internal assets, and capability-building programs.
- Create and deliver compelling presentations, storyboards, and recommendations to senior client stakeholders during project delivery and business development activities.
- Ensure compliance with established governance, quality, and organizational processes while maintaining a strong focus on client satisfaction and business impact.
- 5–9 years of professional experience in Primary Market Research, with strong exposure to both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
- 2–4 years of experience in healthcare, lifesciences, pharmaceutical analytics, or a closely related domain is preferred.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, or equivalent qualification, in Operational Research, Statistics, Economics, Applied Mathematics, or another quantitative discipline; an MBA is an advantage.
- Strong experience in survey design, interview and discussion guide development, research analysis planning, report structuring, and insight generation.
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to quickly interpret research findings and translate them into clear business recommendations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SQL, and SPSS or R, along with hands-on experience in Power BI or Tableau.
- Experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP is a plus.
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical commercial analytics is highly desirable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to communicate complex findings clearly to senior stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills, particularly in global and cross-functional environments.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities effectively within a matrix organization.
- Strong storytelling and storyboarding capabilities, with the ability to transform analytical findings into compelling business narratives.
