Tool and Die Repair Technician - 2nd Shift in Charlotte, Michigan at Linn Products Inc.

Summary of Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform the day-to-day tool and die maintenance and repair activities.
• Perform tooling changeovers and keep the Fabrication Department up and running.

Essential Duties and Tasks:

• Repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of dies.
• Proactively assess all areas of tooling to determine needs for repair prior to a breakdown occurring.
• Continuously assess tooling, dies, and equipment to assure excellent working condition to achieve maximum performance.
• Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders to machine parts, and verifies conformance of machined parts to specifications.
• Verifies dimensions, alignments, and clearances on Fabrication dies.
• Heat treats tools or parts.
• Examines standard or previously used dies, tools, and jigs and fixtures, and recommends design modifications regarding construction and function of part.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements:

High school diploma or GED; Technical school or Certifications (Journeyman's Card) are highly preferred. Previous experience as a Tool and Die Repair Technician.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
• Must be able to use hands and fingers, talk, listen, and speak clearly.
