This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer (Identity and Access) based in United States.
This is a senior-level remote opportunity focused on designing and operating secure, scalable identity and access infrastructure.
You will serve as the primary Okta expert while also contributing broadly across enterprise SaaS and endpoint management.
The role has significant impact on security, compliance, user lifecycle management, and the efficiency of global IT operations.
You will build automation that reduces repetitive work and enables technology infrastructure to scale alongside a rapidly growing organization.
Your work will span identity governance, SSO integrations, SaaS administration, device management, and security collaboration.
You will operate in a highly regulated environment where reliability, documentation, and compliance are critical.
The position is ideal for an experienced systems engineer who combines deep IAM expertise with strong automation and IT infrastructure skills.
- Design, implement, administer, and continuously improve end-to-end Identity and Access Management solutions and user lifecycle processes.
- Own Okta administration, including configuration, authentication policies, directory integrations, MFA, password management, and application integrations.
- Manage core enterprise SaaS platforms including Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack, Jira, and Confluence.
- Oversee unified endpoint management for global Mac and Windows environments using Jamf and Microsoft Intune.
- Develop automated provisioning, deprovisioning, access management, and other IT workflows using Okta Workflows and scripting.
- Establish and maintain identity governance practices, including role-based access control, entitlement reviews, and access certification.
- Lead the technical onboarding and integration of SaaS applications through Single Sign-On and related identity protocols.
- Partner with Security teams to embed strong security practices across identity, endpoint, SaaS, and IT infrastructure.
- Create technical operating procedures, engineering roadmaps, compliance documentation, and other materials that support reliable operations.
- Provide senior-level technical leadership and escalation support for complex IT infrastructure and operational issues.
- Continuously identify opportunities to eliminate manual processes, improve operational efficiency, and use automation to scale IT capabilities.
- 5+ years of experience in IAM systems engineering combined with broad IT infrastructure or systems administration experience.
- Deep, hands-on expertise with Okta configuration, policy management, directory services, MFA, and application integrations.
- Strong knowledge of identity and access standards and technologies, including SAML, SCIM, OAuth, OIDC, IGA, RBAC, and LDAP.
- Demonstrated experience automating IT operations through scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell and tools such as Okta Workflows.
- Proven experience administering enterprise SaaS and collaboration environments, particularly Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack, and Jira/Confluence.
- Experience managing both macOS and Windows endpoints using Jamf and Microsoft Intune.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical engineering experience.
- Strong understanding of security, access governance, and compliance requirements, ideally within a highly regulated environment.
- Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, documentation, and analytical skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across IT, Security, and other business functions.
- A proactive mindset focused on automation, continuous improvement, scalability, and reducing operational toil.
- Remote position available across the United States.
- Competitive location-based base salary, with listed ranges including:
- California, Washington, and New York City: $115,200–$144,000 USD
- Colorado and Illinois: $105,600–$132,000 USD
- Additional total rewards may include bonus and equity.
