Job Description

Protek Surface Technologies is a member of the Nordstern Group of Companies, which also includes Custom Castings, Forte Tooling Technologies, and Sure Cast Aluminum Foundry.

We are currently seeking a Production Assistant to join our team. The Production Assistant is responsible for working on our production floor, shipping and receiving, paperwork, inventory and logging transactions in our ERP system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process parts according to customer specifications using work orders and operation sheets.
  • Perform shipping and receiving tasks including operating a forklift, inventory tracking and logging transactions in our ERP system.
  • Operate packaging equipment such as tape guns, box cutters, heat sealing machines, and shrink wrappers.
  • Operate machinery including cabinet sandblasters, tumble blasting machines, and overhead workstation cranes.
  • Assist in powder coating application.
  • Participate in daily production huddles and fill out standard production paperwork for completed tasks.
  • Engage in 5S activities and provide input to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Bring:

  • Forklift operation experience (an asset but not required).
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift items overhead and at floor level, and withstand high-heat environments.
  • Willingness to use pallet jacks and other production tools as needed.
  • A commitment to teamwork and contributing to a continuous improvement culture.
