Job Description
The Director of Facilities & Property Management provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for WoodsEdge Community Church facilities, grounds, infrastructure, and property assets, ensuring safe, welcoming, and ministry-ready environments that support the church’s mission, vision, and long-term growth. This role leads facilities operations, maintenance, capital projects, safety and security, risk management, property stewardship, vendor relationships, emergency preparedness, and regulatory compliance while partnering with church leadership, ministry teams, contractors, consultants, and local authorities.
Essential Responsibilities
Facilities & Property Stewardship
- Provide leadership and oversight for all campus facilities, grounds, infrastructure, utilities, parking areas, and church-owned properties, ensuring safe, reliable, welcoming, and ministry-ready environments.
- Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance, building systems, campus appearance, landscaping, custodial services, and overall facility readiness.
- Lead and develop Facilities, Maintenance, Grounds, and Custodial personnel, including staffing, scheduling, performance management, and contractor oversight.
- Partner with ministry teams to support worship services, events, conferences, and other campus activities through effective facility planning and execution.
Strategic Planning, Projects & Stewardship
- Develop and implement long-range facilities and property strategies aligned with the church’s mission, growth objectives, and future campus needs.
- Develop and manage operating and capital budgets, long-term asset replacement plans, purchasing, contracts, and resource allocation with a focus on responsible stewardship and operational efficiency.
- Provide leadership with recommendations regarding facility conditions, capital needs, operational risks, and future improvements.
Safety, Risk, Compliance & Partnership
- Lead campus safety, physical security, emergency preparedness, business continuity, and risk-management efforts.
- Ensure appropriate oversight of access control, surveillance, alarms, emergency communications, emergency response planning, insurance, claims, safety training, and loss-control initiatives.
- Ensure facilities and operations comply with applicable OSHA, ADA, Texas Accessibility Standards, building and fire codes, environmental regulations, and local requirements.
- Select and manage vendors, contractors, consultants, and service providers while maintaining productive relationships with utility providers, government agencies, inspectors, and regulatory authorities.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Directly supervises Facilities, Maintenance, Grounds, and Custodial personnel and is responsible for staffing, scheduling, performance management, and contractor oversight.

- Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive facilities, property, or operations management experience.
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience managing facilities or maintenance teams.
- Experience managing large, multi-building campuses or similar complex environments.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, life safety, and building automation systems.
- Experience managing operating and capital budgets, construction projects, and vendor relationships.
- Knowledge of OSHA, ADA, NFPA, building code, and Texas regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency with CMMS, work-order systems, and asset management platforms.
- Valid Texas Driver's License and ability to pass background screening.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Facilities Management Professional (FMP), PMP, CEFP, or similar credential.
- Church, nonprofit, educational, healthcare, or multi-campus facility management experience.
- Experience with energy management, sustainability initiatives, and utility optimization programs.
