About the Role:

The Assistant Coach plays a vital role in supporting the head coach to develop and enhance the athletic skills and overall performance of student-athletes within an educational setting. This position focuses on fostering a positive team environment that promotes sportsmanship, discipline, and personal growth. The Assistant Coach collaborates closely with coaching staff to design and implement training programs, strategize game plans, and analyze performance metrics to achieve competitive success. Additionally, the role involves engaging with the broader school community, including parents, faculty, and supporters, to build strong relationships and promote the athletic program.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in athletics coaching or sports team management.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups.
  • Basic knowledge of sports marketing and fundraising principles.
  • Ability to engage effectively with student-athletes, parents, and school staff.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Coaching certification or licensure relevant to the sport.
  • Experience using social media platforms for team promotion and community engagement.
  • Public speaking experience, particularly in educational or sports settings.
  • Proven track record in successful fundraising campaigns for athletic programs.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills applied in dynamic sports environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the head coach in planning and conducting daily practice sessions and training drills to improve athletes' skills and fitness.
  • Support game-day preparations, including strategy implementation, player substitutions, and performance analysis.
  • Collaborate with coaching staff to develop individualized athlete development plans and monitor progress.
  • Engage in sports marketing and fundraising activities to promote the athletic program and secure necessary resources.
  • Manage team communications through social media and public speaking engagements to enhance community involvement and support.
  • Ensure compliance with all educational and athletic regulations and maintain a safe, inclusive environment for all team members.
  • Participate in recruitment efforts and scouting to identify and attract promising student-athletes.
