Role Overview: This role involves performing responsible and professional security duties to ensure the protection and safety of the staff, visitors, property, and facilities while providing excellent customer service. The Security Ambassador must have strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to respond calmly and effectively during emergency situations.
Key Responsibilities:

Full-time | 1st Shift | Weekends
Hours may fall between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m., based on departmental scheduling needs.

It is a requirement for all assignments that staff, regardless of unit or facility, must be available to float to other units and/or campuses upon request. Staff will only be assigned to units for which they are qualified and will perform tasks for which their competencies have already been demonstrated and documented.

Role Overview: This role involves performing responsible and professional security duties to ensure the protection and safety of the staff, visitors, property, and facilities while providing excellent customer service. The Security Ambassador must have strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to respond calmly and effectively during emergency situations.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety, Security, and Emergency Response
- Implement and maintain museum security procedures in coordination with other security personnel.
- Respond effectively to emergencies, including fire/life safety and medical incidents.
- Maintain constant awareness of suspicious or unsafe activities, including vandalism or theft.
- Respond promptly to incidents and complete accurate and timely incident reports as required.
- Monitor assigned areas to ensure visitor compliance with museum protocols and policies.
- Protect the art collection, facilities, and property through proactive observation and presence.
- Greet and check in visitors at the Loading Dock and create temporary visitor badges.
- Accompany Facilities personnel and external contractors to secure, non-public areas.
- Address policy violations professionally and respectfully to maintain a safe environment.
- Provide excellent customer service to visitors, staff, and stakeholders at all times.
- Assist visitors by answering questions, providing directions, and offering general information.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with security staff and personnel.
- Perform opening and closing procedures in accordance with department standard operating procedures and daily logs.
- Operate and monitor security video surveillance systems.
- Support after-hours events as needed.
- Participate in required training and professional development sessions.
- Operate a golf cart as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support operations.
- Strong communication and customer service skills required.
- Ability to remain professional, observant, and calm in emergency situations.
- Ability to monitor assigned areas and follow established security procedures.
- Must be able to complete a required DMV check.
- Ability to operate a golf cart as needed.
- Ability to work weekends and support after-hours events as needed.
- Previous security, customer service, museum, hospitality, or related experience is a plus.
