We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Administrator to join our corporate team and play an important role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing across the organization.
Position Summary:
The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of multiple payrolls while providing support to the Finance and Human Resources departments. This position will maintain payroll records, ensure compliance with applicable payroll laws and regulations, and assist with payroll reporting, reconciliations, and year-end processes.
The Payroll Administrator will also identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, establish effective backup procedures, and maintain clear documentation of payroll policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and maintain payroll information for new hires, transfers, and employee changes in coordination with Human Resources.
- Process multiple payrolls accurately and timely while ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
- Prepare and complete payroll reports, reconciliations, and related documentation.
- Ensure payroll withholdings, benefit deductions, garnishments, and other payroll-related payments and obligations are accurately reported, withheld, and paid on a timely basis.
- Partner with Human Resources to ensure the accuracy and integrity of employee and payroll data.
- Research and resolve employee and company payroll questions in accordance with company policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
- Administer the year-end payroll process, including preparation and distribution of W-2s.
- Complete compensation surveys and related data requests.
- Maintain accurate records related to bonus and commission eligibility.
- Identify opportunities to streamline and improve payroll processes and procedures.
- Develop and maintain documentation to support consistent payroll processing and effective backup coverage.
- Stay current on payroll regulations, best practices, and compliance requirements.
- Provide support to the Finance and Human Resources departments as needed.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of payroll processing experience.
- Experience processing payroll through a third-party payroll provider and/or HRIS.
- Paylocity experience preferred.
- Experience with multi-state payroll processing and related requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive employee and company information.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to identify potential issues, anticipate related requirements, and follow through to ensure important details are not overlooked.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with HR, Finance, and other departments.
