What You’ll Do
As a Construction Materials Testing Technician, you’ll serve as a trusted professional conducting special inspections, material testing, and site observations across a range of project types and scales helping contribute to projects of significant scale and complexity while supporting the people around you.
You’ll:
- Perform site observations of earthwork, utility backfill, excavations, and foundation construction in addition to construction material testing and special inspections
- Collect samples and perform tests to monitor compliance with construction specifications
- Travel to job sites using company vehicles and interact with Design Team, Building Officials, Contractors, and Clients
- Document inspections and testing activities electronically through an online database including testing logs, work items, and picture records
- Coordinate with Project Managers providing constant communication when on site
- Clean and maintain equipment and vehicles in proper working order
- Perform other tasks directed by supervisor not specifically mentioned

What You’ll Need
- High School Diploma or equivalent education
- 2+ years’ preferred experience performing multi-discipline special inspections & tests
- Knowledge of local building codes
- Ability to achieve ICC certification within 2 years of hire, if not held at hire
- Ability to achieve ACI Field Concrete Testing Technician Level I certification within 1 year of hire, if not held at hire
- Nuclear Safety Training
- Valid Driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to use Microsoft programs and MetaField software
Where You’ll Work
This is primarily an office-based role, with opportunities to get out into the field and stay connected to the projects and people you’re serving.
Travel: (75%+ in the field) You will be expected to travel to various work sites to perform fieldwork. Company cars and/or rental vehicles shall be utilized to travel between work sites.
This position requires work to be performed in an office environment and in the field. Work done in the field may consist of exposure to various types of weather and temperatures. Construction Materials Technicians may also be exposed to pollutants, chemicals, insects, and possibly water-borne pathogens. Employees are required to wear appropriate protective clothing and gear when performing fieldwork.
You must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
