Job Description

JOB SUMMARY: Entry-level working role focused on learning Logistics Operations processes, safety expectations, quality standards, and basic equipment operation while directly supporting daily departmental execution. This position performs assigned tasks under close supervision and is expected to build foundational understanding of workflow sequencing, lot traceability, contamination prevention, material handling, and department discipline. Work at this level is primarily execution-based and follows established instructions, standard operating procedures, and direct guidance from the Department Lead or designated trainer. Judgment is limited to carrying out assigned responsibilities correctly and recognizing when to stop, ask questions, or escalate concerns related to safety, quality, documentation, or process flow. Success in this role is defined by dependability, willingness to learn, safe behavior, strong attention to detail, consistency in completing assigned tasks, and visible growth in skill, confidence, and operational awareness.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*:


    • Operate, monitor, and clean conditioning equipment used for seed cleaning, sizing, drying, and related material flow support.
    • Perform setup, lot changeovers, and cleaning to prevent contamination and maintain product integrity.
    • Monitor process flow, throughput, and output quality while reporting or resolving deviations based on role level.
    • Maintain organized work areas and support equipment care, traceability, and safe execution standards.
    • Perform assigned work under direct guidance while learning task sequencing, process flow, and department expectations.
    • Escalate unclear instructions, discrepancies, or safety concerns to the Department Lead in a timely manner.
    • Safety Responsibilities
      • Follow all PPE, equipment, and operational safety requirements at all times.
      • Operate tools and equipment in accordance with approved procedures and training.
      • Report unsafe conditions, incidents, near misses, or compliance concerns immediately through the chain of command.
    • Quality and Compliance

      • Maintain lot traceability and contamination prevention throughout all assigned tasks and workflows.
      • Follow applicable SOPs, quality standards, and regulatory requirements relevant to the department.
      • Support audit readiness and disciplined process execution through accurate work and compliance with standards and 5S systems.
    • Systems and Data Responsibilities

      • Use ERP/D365 and related systems accurately for transactions, tracking, and required documentation.
      • Ensure data accuracy in work orders, lot references, inventory movements, and operational records.
      • Understanding of lot traceability, contamination prevention, and product integrity requirements.
      • Complete required department records, logs, or documentation in a timely and accurate manner.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of warehouse operations, departmental workflow, and role-specific process execution.
  • Understanding of SOP compliance, quality expectations, and safety requirements within warehouse operations.
  • Ability to operate and support warehouse equipment relevant to the assigned department and role level.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.


EXPERIENCE AND BACKGROUND:

  • Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational discipline.
  • Basic math and measurement skills.
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification, where applicable.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to lift 60 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive movements for extended periods.
  • Ability to climb ladders and mezzanines.
  • Ability to work in hot, cold, dusty, or variable warehouse environments and work with chemicals.
  • Ability to wear required PPE including gloves, protective clothing, respirators, or other task-specific safety equipment.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and peak-season schedules as operationally required.
