JOB SUMMARY: The Construction Site Manager is responsible for overseeing daily field operations related to land development projects from start to completion. This role ensures that all construction activities are performed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with approved plans, specifications, and Peninsula Engineering’s quality standards. The Construction Site Manager serves as the primary field representative between contractors, engineers, and developers, ensuring smooth communication and timely project delivery.
SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise and coordinate site development activities including earthwork, utilities, road construction, grading, and drainage.
- Monitor contractor performance to ensure compliance with project plans, schedules, safety standards, and quality requirements.
- Conduct daily site inspections and document progress through reports and photographs.
- Communicate with project managers, engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors to resolve field issues promptly.
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Track project milestones, schedules, and quantities; assist in verifying pay applications.
- Maintain strict adherence to safety, environmental, and erosion control regulations.
- Identify potential risks or delays and proactively implement corrective measures.
- Attend and lead on-site construction meetings as needed.
- Manage and mentor field staff or assistants assigned to the project.
- Abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions. Follows all safety rules and makes use of appropriate safety equipment.
- Participates and attends staff meetings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in land development or civil site construction management.
- Strong working knowledge of underground utilities, roadway construction, grading, and stormwater systems.
- Proven ability to read and interpret civil engineering plans and specifications.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple active projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, project management software, and field reporting tools.
- Valid Florida driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience working with Peninsula Engineering or similar civil engineering/development firms.
- Familiarity with Collier County, Lee County, or Southwest Florida development standards and permitting processes.
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred.
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred but not required).

Employee will be working 90% indoors and 10% outdoors. This position operates primarily in the field at active construction sites, with occasional office visits for project coordination and reporting. Work may involve exposure to outdoor elements, heavy equipment, and varying site conditions.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Indoors and Outdoors. Regular exposure to all weather conditions. May be exposed to uncomfortable or distracting sounds or noise levels on sites. Position requires considerable physical exertion, mobility and ability to lift and carry for extended periods of time. When working on site, required to wear safety equipment. General office environment; no special requirements or hazards.
