Job Description
AI Signal Research, Inc. (ASRI) is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the Redstone Test Center (RTC) mission by providing engineering expertise for the testing and evaluation of U.S. Army aviation systems. This role supports the design, integration, and implementation of specialized instrumentation systems used to collect critical flight test data on military aircraft.
The selected candidate will work alongside a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technicians to develop innovative instrumentation solutions supporting flight testing of avionics, communications, radar, navigation systems, infrared equipment, lasers, computer circuitry, and other aircraft systems.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Engineering in a designated area of specialization or a related discipline from an accredited college or university.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an FAA Class III Medical Certificate.
- Knowledge of electrical and electronic system design principles.
- Experience creating and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
- Basic to intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with programming or scripting languages.
- Experience with aviation, aerospace, military, or flight test environments is a plus.
- Design and support integration of instrumentation systems for military aircraft flight testing.
- Specify instrumentation required to collect and record flight test data from avionics, communications, radar, navigation, infrared, laser, and other aircraft systems.
- Develop electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, analyses, and supporting engineering documentation.
- Participate in design reviews and collaborate with flight test engineers to ensure test objectives are met.
- Translate electrical design requirements into installation and integration solutions for structural engineers and technicians.
- Prepare technical documentation, presentations, cost estimates, material requirements, and manpower assessments.
- Support installation, operation, troubleshooting, and removal of instrumentation systems on aircraft.
- Analyze and resolve data collection and instrumentation issues during test operations.
- Provide technical guidance regarding capabilities, limitations, risks, and trade-offs associated with instrumentation and electrical systems.
- Collaborate with engineering and flight test teams to improve current and future testing capabilities.
