Job Description

Position Description: SUMMARY: Directs, supervises and coordinates administration of Neighbor to Family’s (NTF) professional service programs and aids Chief of Staff in formulating and administering organization policies by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate directors to ensure safety and protection for all assigned children and families.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Participates in all contract negotiations to ensure accuracy and fair compensation for services provided.
  • Periodically conducts internal audits to ensure that each site is following state and federal regulations, Lead Agencies and the NTF model.
  • Partners with peers and stakeholders in formulating and administering NTF’s policies and developing short-term and long-range goals and objectives to support the mission of the agency.
  • Reports fundraising/Match contributions from all FL programs to Chief of Staff immediately, ensuring ongoing communication as the opportunity progresses.
  • Participates in the evaluation of NTF services and recommends modifications to extend, modify or end services where appropriate.
  • Reviews analyses of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine Florida site’s progress toward stated goals and objectives.
  • Confers with Chief of Staff and other appropriate personnel to review achievements and discuss required changes in goals or objectives resulting from current status and conditions.
  • Initiates and maintains interagency agreements.
  • Makes recommendations to Chief of Staff regarding the utilization and control of physical and financial resources; administers and manages budgets for programs.
  • Interprets NTF services to the community through direct involvement with public and private groups.
  • Maintain relationships with and provides leadership to board committees as required.
  • Actively participate and seek opportunities for NTF program expansion and make recommendations to Chief of Staff on a quarterly basis.
  • Attends meetings with stakeholders and community partners to build positive relationships.
  • Develops and maintains positive working relationships with Cabinet, BOD, Advisory Boards and other applicable stakeholders to execute organizational goals.
  • Participate and seek opportunities to be a member of state and county committees and workgroups as needed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Manages all Program/Executive directors of Florida’s Sibling and Prevention Programs. Is responsible for the overall management, direction, coordination, and evaluation. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Retains monthly supervision documents for all direct reports and ensures they are keeping the same of their staff. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Evaluates the qualifications of all applicants and employees to ensure qualified individuals are treated in a nondiscriminatory manner when hiring, promotions, transfers, and terminations occur.

Reviews the job performance of each employee to assess whether personnel actions are justified based on the employee’s performance of his or her duties and responsibilities, and providing feedback that is timely and constructive.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Master’s in social work or MA in another human services field; plus at least ten years related professional experience required, including five years experience managing a multiplicity of programs and staff. Related experience should include direct service delivery in community and/or child welfare organizations. Demonstrated ability to develop teams highly desirable.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  • Maintain valid and current driver's license, appropriate insurance and reliable car.
  • Submit to and pass a pre-employment drug test.
  • Submit to and pass random drug tests during employment.
  • Successfully pass all background screens as required by the state and or federal government.
  • Working knowledge of basic computer skills in Windows environment.
  • Complete 24 hours of staff development annually.
