Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for daily supervision of clients, utilization and adherence to core trainings, Sanctuary, CPI UKERU, incident report writing, staff development and overall leadership within the treatment team of assigned unit.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Maintains oral and written communication with staff, clients, and other members of the Casa Grande treatment team.
2. Supports the development of direct care support schedule, ensuring that each dorm is in acuity at all times.
3. Responsible for daily documentation of client progress, or lack of, in the communication log/daily achievement system.
4. Responsible for leadership in collaboration with the clinical team, education, nursing and direct care. Ensuring communication channels and expectations are followed from all parties involved.
5. Ensure the CGA contraband policy is followed including routine checks and searches according to policy.
6. Supervises clients in accordance with CGA policies, protocols and standards.
7. Ensure Program schedule is actively updated weekly, reviewed in team meetings, and carries out activities, games, sports, projects etc. with clients on a daily basis
8. Ensure skill-building group hours are within compliance.
9. Ensure basic needs are met for clients and groups and that new clients receive proper introduction to programming.
10. Role Models and adheres to trauma responsive practices taught in Sanctuary & UKERU training. Utilizing de-escalation, CPI, UKERU blocking and techniques to manage high risk situations as they arise.
11. Effectively coordinates outings and any transports schedule for clients. Ensures safety of all clients, staff and CGA property.
12. Attends weekly meetings for continued development, care coordination and communication alongside completing necessary documentation.
13. Attends and completes all mandatory and required trainings.
14. Attends and co-facilitates weekly team meeting alongside the Shift Supervisor and Milieu Manager, completing minutes and sending them to appropriate parties.
15. As applicable, coordinate and communicate around the budget for supplies, food and activities.
16. Demonstrates proper methods of cleaning and organizing within the unit, creating a high standard of cleanliness and organization for staff and clients.
17. Follows and ensures safety regulations: maintains order, settles disputes, conducts routine head count, checks for safe environment, and prevents the client from harming self and others.
18. Completes incident reports and restraint reports accurately and timely and helps other meet this standard.
19. Exemplifies appropriate role modeling through physical appearance, social skills, professional words and acts, and sets clear professional boundaries.
20. Carries out and supports the treatment team direction in safety planning, red flag meetings, treatment plans, and goals.
21. Additional duties are determined by the Shift Supervisor and/or the Milieu Manager.
22. Adheres to CGA policy and practice concerning creation, editing, transmission, storage, and disposition of all Protected Health Information in compliance with HIPAA.
Requirements:POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum age of 21
- 2 years of experience
- Has a high school diploma or high school equivalency diploma.
- Ability to obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint clearance card (or have a current valid level 1 fingerprint card).
- Individual judgment, discretion, and decision-making skills.
- Emotionally and physically able to assist in physical escort and/or restraint.
- Must be able to help carry an ill, injured, or incapacitated client.
- Must be physically able to assist in AWOL searches in mountainous terrain.
- Confidentiality and professionalism are essential.
