Dominique Dawes Academy is hiring an Xcel Head Coach for our Jersey Village, TX location!

Are you passionate about developing competitive gymnasts and building a thriving team culture? We're looking for an experienced Xcel Head Coach to lead our competitive program, mentor coaches, and inspire athletes to reach their full potential both in and out of the gym.

This is an exciting leadership opportunity for a coach who enjoys developing athletes, leading a coaching team, and helping shape the future of a growing competitive program.

What You'll Do

• Lead and grow the Xcel Competitive Team program at your assigned location
• Coach Xcel athletes while supporting athlete progression from recreational to competitive gymnastics
• Develop seasonal training plans, practice schedules, and meet preparation strategies
• Mentor, schedule, and develop Team Coaches while fostering a positive coaching culture
• Build strong relationships with athletes and families through consistent communication
• Coordinate meet registrations, travel logistics, uniforms, and team events
• Collaborate with the General Manager and Program Manager to support overall gym success
• Promote athlete safety by following proper spotting techniques, skill progressions, and injury prevention protocols
• Serve as a positive leader who models the academy's values of respect, teamwork, and excellence

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of competitive gymnastics coaching experience
• Experience coaching USA Gymnastics Xcel and/or Development Program (DP/JO) athletes
• Strong technical knowledge of vault, bars, beam, and floor
• Demonstrated success developing athletes across multiple competitive seasons
• Previous leadership, mentoring, or staff development experience preferred
• CPR/AED, First Aid, and SafeSport certified (or willing to obtain upon hire)
• Ability to safely spot athletes and lift up to 50 lbs.

Work Schedule & Environment

• Weekday afternoons and evenings with weekend practices and competitions
• Frequent travel during competition season (travel expenses paid)
