Work Hours: 12-Hr, 2-2-3 Shifts

Job Summary
The Assembly Technician II is responsible for operating cut-to-size panel saws and/or coating lines. They have expanded their job knowledge from the Assembly Technician I role and have taken on additional responsibilities. The Assembly Technician II has a higher skill set and proven track record of packaging finished goods according to established specifications, work instructions, and safety protocols. This role ensures quality, accuracy, and consistency in products, contributing directly to Plaskolite’s commitment to operational excellence and customer satisfaction. Assembly Technicians work as part of a collaborative production team to meet daily output goals and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
This position requires attention to detail, the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and quality—reflecting Plaskolite’s core values of Integrity and Improvement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Cut and/or coat materials in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Read and interpret schedules, schematics, work orders, and manufacturing instructions to determine quality and packaging specifications.
- Inspect material and products for quality and functionality, reporting any defects or inconsistencies to the team lead or supervisor.
- Operate machines or equipment as required for cutting or coating, ensuring proper setup, use, and maintenance.
- Maintain accurate documentation of completed work, including production counts and quality checks.
- Participate in line changeovers, equipment cleaning, and setup as needed.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Engineering teams to resolve assembly issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Follow all safety guidelines and contribute to a culture of workplace safety and housekeeping (5S).
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and address operational concerns.
- Support Plaskolite’s One Team culture by demonstrating teamwork, integrity, and accountability in daily responsibilities.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3-5 years of manufacturing experience
- Experience in coatings or CNC operations preferred
Skills and Competencies:
- Basic math & computer skills required
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure
- Perform precision measurements using micrometers and calipers
- Strong understanding of product quality specifications and standards
