Responsibilities

Now hiring for a Quality and Safety Manager at our Baulkham Hills NSW Australia manufacturing plant. In this role you will be counted on for the following activities:

  • Lead team to achieve expected EHS results, meanwhile keep driving & advancing safety culture at ANZ site.
  • Be fully responsible for managing end-to-end quality management (supplier to customer) which includes supplier quality, manufacturing process quality, customer quality notice (CQN), ISO9001 quality system management as well as internal/external audits by applying the right quality control methods and tools such as PFMEA/5W/8D/Cause-Effect Diagram/SPC.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Define, develop, and document quality systems, processes and procedures to ensure that products meet specified requirements enforcing policies and procedures. Adherence to ISO 9001 certification. All documents and procedures must be audit ready at given time.
  • Oversee quality procedures and processes of all manufactured products, conduct inspection and traceability management.

  • Perform Quality Compliance inspections on manufactured products including water purity checks, hat testing, and air testing as required by the relevant standards. · Drive continual Quality Improvement efforts, Non-conformance, and Product Defects reporting · Lead team to drive scrap cost reduction by using problem solving tools and poke-yoke method.

  • Be responsible to supplier quality management (supplier audit, CI SQN).

  • Establish supplier scorecard performance measures on quality, cost and on-time delivery · Drive customer satisfaction improvements in quality area by leading a series of Kaizen initiatives.

  • Taking ownership of the entire process, provide a complete investigative review of customer complaints to relevant stakeholders, dealing with customer quality complaints (CQN); provide agility in quick turnover on warranty claims by customers including appropriate documentation to manage credit.

  • Strict control on licensed and certified products.

  • Control and Issuance of Certificate of Conformance on all certified products.

  • Alignment of Quality Assurance procedures to Long Range Planning of Operations.

  • Other tasks assigned by supervisor.

  • Act as the site Health, Safety & Environment Representative in ANZ.

  • Provide Environment Health & Safety guidance and compliance support to site management team to ensure the compliance of internal and external regulations/rules.

  • Advocate health & safety to all staff across all functional departments.

  • Evaluate facility EHS conditions, assess risks and develop appropriate corrective-action plans and budgets to address deficiencies in comparison to regulations and client internal policy/protocol.

  • Lead and engage associates to promote Near Hits submission and keep follow up with the solution owner to close the NHs effectively and timely.

  • Keep management apprised of progress and significant developments on key projects.

  • Assist site management in executing EHS priorities to achieve corporate’s KPIs.

  • Support efforts to analyze and communicate performance against expectations, provide feedback, establish and track required actions to improve performance.

  • Manage the servicing and maintenance of all equipment on site.

  • Oversee any changes to equipment and processes to ensure maintenance of highest standard quality and safety practices.

  • Co-ordination of external contractors and service providers.

  • Deliver monthly corporate reports as required.

  • Ensure correlation of incoming inspection methodology and risk management of new processes.

  • At various times during the month, specific reports and requests need to be addressed involving other affiliates around the world. This could involve quality, customer complaints, product defects or manufacturing plant reviews. This mainly takes place during normal work but can flow through to evenings when Europe & the US are active, ready to request or provide information.

  • Global interaction with various teams. It may include customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.

  • Execute tasks by prioritizing to gain customer experience and the principles of the organization.

  • Demonstrate high degree of flexibility in tasks and assistance as required.

  • Proactively lead elements of Quality and Safety duties in-line with changing Standards and regulations.

  • Management coverage for Operations and Service teams.

  • Work with Operations Manager to lead implementation of MSA Business System at workshop (Continuous Improvement).



Qualifications

Experience (required):

  • Minimum 5 years experience in the QA/QC management role
  • Be familiar with:
    • ISO9001
    • Internal and external audit
    • Quality control and analytical tools
    • Operations/Manufacturing Engineering

Experience (preferred): Production Management / Engineering Management

Education (required): Bachelor with major in Science/ Industrial Engineering/Electronics

Education (preferred): Relevant experience in chemical, safety and related engagements

Travel: MSA affiliates as and if required (5%)
