Job Description

Help People Launch Careers. Build Opportunity. Strengthen Healthcare.

Are you passionate about helping people recognize their potential and turn that potential into a meaningful career?

Dwyer Workforce Development (DWD) is looking for a Scholar Success Coach who is energized by coaching, relationship-building, and creating opportunities. In this role, you will help individuals move from healthcare training into employment—and then provide the support and encouragement they need to succeed once they get there.

This is a scholar-facing, employer-connected, and outcomes-driven role that bridges training completion to sustained employment. The Employment Success Coach translates training outcomes into job readiness, placement success, and long-term career pathways by providing individualized coaching, employer engagement, and direct advocacy.

The role extends beyond placement to actively representing scholars in the labor market—engaging employers, presenting scholar talent, and influencing hiring outcomes—while also delivering early-stage intervention support to ensure scholars remain on track toward employment success.

About Us
Dwyer Workforce Development’s (DWD) mission is to provide comprehensive support to individuals who lack opportunity and aspire to pursue a career in the healthcare industry, alleviating a severe healthcare workforce shortage, and improving the lives of seniors and the community.

Our Values
• Integrity – We do the right thing, even when no one is looking.
• Empathy – We lead with compassion and seek to understand.
• Ingenuity – We bring big ideas and creative solutions to challenges.
• Accountability – We take ownership of our actions and results.
• Collaboration – We believe in the power of we over me.
These aren't simply words on a wall. They are expectations for how we show up every day.

What You'll Do
Prepare Scholars for Success
•Coach scholars on resumes, interviewing, professional communication, and job- search strategies.
•Assess employment readiness and identify gaps in skills, confidence, workplace expectations, or preparation.
•Help scholars understand what employers—particularly healthcare employers—are looking for.
•Build confidence and help scholars recognize and communicate their own strengths.

Turn Training Into Career Opportunities
•Guide scholars through the employment process from job search and applications through interviews and offer acceptance.
•Identify employment opportunities that align with each scholar's skills, interests, readiness, and career goals. And facilitate applications, interviews, employer communication, and follow-up.

Coach, Encourage & Advocate
•Build trusting, individualized relationships with scholars, helping them navigate challenges that may affect their employment success.
•Recognize early signs of disengagement or barriers and provide timely coaching and support.
•Connect scholars with Case Managers or other resources when more intensive support is needed.

Build Relationships With Employers
•Represent scholars at employer meetings, hiring events, and partner engagements.
•Present qualified scholars to employers and communicate their strengths, preparation, and potential.
•Build strong relationships between scholars and employers throughout the hiring process.
•Advocate for opportunities that allow qualified scholars to compete and succeed.

Help Scholars Stay Successful After They Are Hired
•Maintain contact with scholars during the early stages of employment and provide coaching and encouragement when workplace challenges arise.
•Help identify potential retention risks before they become larger issues.
•Serve as a resource to employers when early-stage performance concerns arise.
•Coordinate additional support when a scholar needs more than coaching.

Work as Part of a Team
•Partner with career counselors, case managers, training teams, and other internal partners.
•Collaborate with the Community Engagement Team to understand scholar needs and workforce trends.
•Share insights about barriers, readiness, placement, and retention.
•Help create a seamless scholar experience from training through employment and career advancement.

Use Data to Improve Outcomes
•Track placement, time-to-placement, retention, and other employment outcomes.
•Maintain accurate records of scholar and employer engagement.
•Identify trends and opportunities to improve employment strategies.
•Contribute ideas that strengthen scholar outcomes and employer satisfaction.

What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys helping people succeed and knows how to balance empathy with accountability.

•The ability to build authentic, trusting relationships while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
•Experience working with diverse and/or underserved populations.
