Job Description

Essential Functions
  • Prioritize residents' needs through a person-directed approach that reflects their individual interests, preferences, and lifestyles.
  • Develop meaningful, resident-centered solutions that are appropriate, engaging, and effective.
  • Oversee Life Enrichment programming for both Assisted Living and Independent Living communities.
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement activities that promote leisure, socialization, creativity, and mental and physical well-being.
  • Oversee entertainment and special programming for Independent Living (IL) and Assisted Living (AL) residents.
  • Plan and manage all aspects of day and overnight trips, ensuring activities and destinations are appropriate and accessible for residents.
  • Promote the safety, comfort, dignity, and inclusion of residents during all activities and events.
  • Collaborate with the Life Enrichment team to maintain high standards for activity programming and scheduling while ensuring compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of activity programs, including resident participation and progress toward established care plan goals.
  • Coordinate special events, outings, celebrations, and group activities that encourage socialization and strengthen community engagement.
  • Work closely with residents, families, and team members to gather feedback and ideas, continuously adapting programming to meet residents' evolving interests and needs.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Sociology, Therapeutic Recreation, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Previous Assisted Living activities experience required.
  • Independent Living activities experience preferred.
  • ADC certification through NCCAP highly desired.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to commute to our Freehold, NJ location required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with residents, families, visitors, team members, entertainers, and vendors with courtesy, professionalism, and tact.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to effectively lead and collaborate with a diverse team.
  • Ability to work successfully in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Understanding of the unique needs, interests, and challenges of older adults.
  • Creativity, flexibility, and the ability to adapt programming to accommodate diverse interests, abilities, and preferences.
  • Knowledge of applicable regulations and compliance requirements within senior living communities preferred.
