Job Description
Overview
The Production Control Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and guiding the day-to-day operations of the Production Control team. This role is critical to ensuring accurate ERP data entry, timely job order creation, effective material management, and seamless coordination across departments to support production objectives.
The ideal candidate combines strong production control experience with proven leadership skills to drive team performance, maintain data integrity, and ensure operational excellence. In addition to leading daily activities, this position assists in developing and implementing strategic initiatives that improve Production Control processes, enhance system utilization, increase operational efficiency, and support the department's long-term growth and continuous improvement objectives.

Key Responsibilities
* Lead, mentor, and coordinate the daily activities of the Production Control team to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
* Manage the performance and development of direct reports through regular coaching, performance feedback, goal setting, and accountability.
* Monitor work-in-progress (WIP) and work with the Master Scheduler to adjust schedules as needed to accommodate changes in demand, materials, or production capacity.
* Serve as a liaison between Production Control, Purchasing, Inventory, Production, and Quality teams to resolve issues, reduce delays, and ensure timely material availability.
* Ensure accurate, real-time data entry and maintenance within ERP and scheduling systems; audit team inputs for accuracy and consistency.
* Identify process inefficiencies and support continuous improvement initiatives within the Production Control function.
* Maintain and enforce standards for data accuracy and documentation of production and material transactions.
* Act as a point of escalation for production schedule conflicts and material issues, working with leadership to implement timely solutions.
* Develop and implement strategic initiatives to improve Production Control processes through automation, standardization, and system enhancements, reducing manual effort and increasing planning accuracy.
* Establish, monitor, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) for Production Control and utilize data-driven insights to drive continuous improvement and support operational decision-making.
* Lead development, coaching, and succession planning for the Production Control team by identifying skill gaps, creating development plans, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous learning.
* Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing leadership to identify opportunities to improve capacity utilization, inventory performance, schedule adherence, and overall operational efficiency.

Knowledge and Experience Requirements
* High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or higher in Production Management, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred.
* 2+ years of experience in production control, scheduling, or manufacturing coordination, with at least 1 year in a leadership or senior support capacity.
* Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
* Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team toward shared objectives.
* Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities with the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective cross-functional collaboration.
* Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, inventory management, and production flow.
