Job Description

Safety Co-Op


Scot Forge Company is looking to hire 2 Safety Interns, one in each Spring Grove, IL and Clinton, WI locations. The Co-Op is available from June 2027 to December 2027 and the internship is available for Spring, Summer, and Fall semesters. A Safety Co-Op at Scot Forge will offer a student the opportunity to practice occupational safety theory in a real-world setting.

Anticipated Projects include:

  • Administering the safety management system to ensure a safe work environment
  • Help to improve safety metrics including the coordination of programs to prevent incidents
  • Learn safety practices and principles of a manufacturing environment
  • Deliver a formal presentation to leadership on key project accomplishments
  • Update policies, procedures and records
Qualifications:

    Enrolled in Bachelor or Master degree program in Occupational Safety or Environmental Engineering, Junior standing or above.
    Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPointExcellent communications skills, both written and verbalKnowledge of Safety & Environmental regulations and safety management principleAbility to recognize problems/ hazards, analyze them, and offer solutions using proven safety/ incident investigation analysis tools.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be authorized to work anywhere in the U.S. without sponsorship
  • Must be able to pass a 90 day head hair drug test.
