Sterling Infrastructure is looking for an AI Engineer in Draper, UT who enjoys turning complex business challenges into practical technology solutions. This position will focus on supporting our Heavy Civil Construction operations, developing innovative AI and technology solutions that improve workflows, increase efficiency, and support project teams in the field.

Position_Description :
What You'll Do
- Partner directly with business and construction operations teams to identify opportunities for technology and AI solutions.
- Design, develop, and deploy applications, AI agents, automations, dashboards, and data integrations.
- Build solutions using Microsoft Azure, Fabric, Power BI, and other modern AI technologies.
- Develop AI-powered workflows using tools such as Claude, Microsoft Copilot, and Azure AI.
- Turn complex data into practical tools that improve efficiency, reporting, and decision-making.
- Take ownership of projects from initial concept through deployment and ongoing support.
- Collaborate with IT, security, and business leaders to deliver secure, scalable solutions.
Position Requirements :
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, cloud engineering, AI solutions, or a related field.
- Strong programming and development skills, including SQL, REST APIs, and experience with Python, .NET, TypeScript, or similar languages.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure, Fabric, Power Platform, or comparable cloud technologies.
- Hands-on experience developing AI solutions, automations, or data-driven applications.
- Ability to work independently, communicate with non-technical teams, and turn business needs into working solutions.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
Even Better If You Have:
- Experience with Claude, Microsoft Copilot, Azure AI, or other large language model (LLM) technologies.
- Experience developing operational or financial dashboards.
- Familiarity with construction technology platforms such as Viewpoint, HCSS, Trimble, or Autodesk.
