Position Summary
The Sanitation Technician is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment throughout the Plat Du Jour Inc. facility. This role performs general cleaning duties across common areas, breakrooms, hallways, and work areas, helping ensure the facility meets the company's high standards for cleanliness and supports a safe workplace for all employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine trash and recycling removal throughout GMP zones, kitchen, production, fulfillment, and warehouse areas.
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in common areas, hallways, and general work areas.
- Clean and sanitize breakrooms, restrooms, and shared spaces, including surfaces, sinks, and appliances.
- Operate and clean the commercial dishwashing machine, including loading, running, and unloading wares according to manufacturer instructions and PDJ sanitation protocols; perform routine cleaning and maintenance of the machine at the start, during, and end of each shift
- Restock paper products, soap, and other consumable supplies in restrooms and breakrooms.
- Wipe down and disinfect high-touch surfaces such as doorknobs, light switches, and handrails.
- Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or supply shortages to the Administrator & Operations Manager.
- Maintain janitorial equipment and supplies in clean, working order and notify management when replacements are needed.
- Follow all safety guidelines when handling cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
- Prior janitorial, custodial, or cleaning experience preferred but not required; entry-level candidates are welcome to apply.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning products, techniques, and safety protocols, or willingness to learn.
- Strong attention to detail and reliability.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good time-management skills and the ability to complete assigned tasks within a shift.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods during a shift.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs regularly.
- Ability to safely use cleaning equipment, including mops, vacuums, and floor care machines.
- Ability to work around cleaning chemicals in accordance with safety guidelines.
