This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Staff Enterprise Security Engineer, AI Security based in United States.
This is a senior technical leadership opportunity focused on securing enterprise adoption of AI and emerging agentic technologies.
You’ll shape security strategy and build foundational technical guardrails that enable responsible AI innovation at scale.
The role combines security engineering, architecture, threat modeling, identity and access management, and data protection.
You’ll partner across security, engineering, infrastructure, and business teams to address complex and evolving risks.
Your work will include designing secure AI reference architectures and developing scalable controls for first- and third-party AI agents.
As a staff-level technical leader, you’ll influence long-term strategy while remaining hands-on with code and infrastructure.
This remote role is ideal for an experienced security engineer who thrives on ambiguity, technical complexity, and high-impact cross-functional work.
- Design and implement secure reference architectures for enterprise AI platforms, protecting data integrity, regulatory compliance, resilience, and overall security posture.
- Establish and evolve a comprehensive framework for evaluating and vetting AI technologies, helping embed secure AI practices across the organization.
- Develop the long-term roadmap for agentic AI identity and posture management in partnership with cross-functional security and technology teams.
- Architect and implement preventative security guardrails that address risks introduced by AI agents and emerging AI use cases.
- Apply strong security engineering practices through high-quality code using Python, Go, or similar programming languages.
- Manage and improve infrastructure through Infrastructure as Code while maintaining scalable, reliable, and secure enterprise environments.
- Apply expertise in security assessments, threat modeling, identity and access control, and data protection to solve complex security challenges.
- Partner with engineering, security, infrastructure, and business stakeholders to establish strategic direction and drive execution across organizational boundaries.
- Serve as a technical advisor to senior leadership, translating emerging AI security risks and opportunities into practical recommendations.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to the development of security engineering practices, standards, and technical capabilities.
- 7+ years of experience in security engineering, infrastructure security, or a closely related field.
- 2+ years of experience providing technical leadership at staff-engineer level or leading teams within an enterprise environment.
- Deep expertise in cloud security, particularly AWS and GCP, as well as container security and Kubernetes.
- Proven experience designing and deploying complex security systems at enterprise scale.
- Strong programming proficiency in Python, Go, Java, or similar languages.
- Experience with security architecture, threat modeling, identity and access management, data protection, and enterprise security controls.
- Experience designing, deploying, or reviewing automation for complex security workflows, including AI-driven and traditional automation approaches.
- Strong ability to navigate ambiguous, large-scale technical challenges and translate them into practical, scalable solutions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to explain sophisticated AI and security risks to non-technical audiences.
- Strategic thinking combined with a hands-on engineering mindset and the ability to influence technical direction across organizational boundaries.
- Strong mentoring and collaboration skills, with a commitment to developing both people and security engineering practices.

- Competitive location-based compensation, with the following published annual salary ranges:
- Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Vermont, or Washington, D.C.: $155,520–$194,400
- New York, New Jersey, Washington State, or California outside the San Francisco Bay Area: $164,640–$205,800
- San Francisco Bay Area, California: $182,960–$228,700
