Overview

Receive, log, inventory and secure lost and found articles. Inspect articles and telephone or send letters to owners when identification is known. Return articles to owners upon positive identification. Arrange for disposal of unclaimed property and deliver property and currency to NYPD or NYU Bursar Department on a regular basis. Maintain related records. Respond to inquiries regarding lost and found articles.



Responsibilities

Required Education:
High School diploma or equivalent.

Required Experience:
2 years of office experience.

Preferred Experience:
1-2 years of office experience (with Associate's degree).

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Proficiency with intermediate-level word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications. Moderate, accurate keyboarding.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Proficiency with intermediate-level Microsoft Office. Good writing and proofreading skills.



Qualifications

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the hourly rate for this position is USD $37.329. This rate is based on bargaining unit contracts. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.

Human Resources will conduct a phone interview and possible skills assessments for a pool of qualified applicants. The candidates selected to move forward in the interview process may then participate in one-on-one, and/or panel interviews with DCS personnel designated by the hiring manager. The hiring manager may conduct a final interview and select the applicant for the position.
