Accountabilities:
  • Lead the design, architecture, and delivery of complex product initiatives spanning multiple engineering teams and systems.
  • Partner closely with Product, Design, and Data stakeholders to transform ambiguous business challenges into scalable and maintainable technical solutions.
  • Define and evolve engineering architecture, technical standards, and system design patterns that support long-term scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Contribute hands-on to software development efforts while setting a high standard for code quality, system reliability, and engineering best practices.
  • Mentor and guide engineers through code reviews, technical discussions, architectural planning, and problem-solving initiatives.
  • Identify, prioritize, and address technical debt, scalability bottlenecks, operational risks, and system performance issues proactively.
  • Influence technical roadmaps and engineering priorities with a strong balance of product thinking, business impact, and technical strategy.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment across engineering, product, and design teams to ensure successful execution of critical initiatives.
  • Advocate for maintainable, resilient, and user-focused software solutions that improve customer experience and operational efficiency.
  • Support a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, technical excellence, and long-term engineering impact.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience within product-focused or growth-oriented technology environments.
  • Proven experience operating at a Staff Engineer or equivalent senior technical leadership level.
  • Strong backend or full-stack engineering expertise with experience building and scaling customer-facing systems and distributed applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance hands-on technical execution with strategic architectural leadership.
  • Experience designing scalable architectures, solving complex systems challenges, and leading cross-team technical initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, system reliability, scalability, maintainability, and performance optimization.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across engineering, product, and design organizations.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, influence technical direction, and make sound engineering decisions in high-impact environments.
  • Strong ownership mindset with a focus on outcomes, long-term impact, and continuous improvement.
