Job Title: Associate Cafe Cashier/server

Department: Associate Café dept 97

Reports To: Restaurant Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Summary: This position a very important part of the Associate Café team – we need a friendly face, good phone skill, can handle multi tasking between ringing up food orders, answering phone with occasional food orders, properly charging and communicating to the staff what the charges are, cash handling and able to handle point of sale computer, restocking and keeping the line clean, outside of the service line clean & in good order. Communicate thru writing items that are viewed as running low for reorder. Good communication with the back of the house, front team members and the associates that come thru our line, stay and work organized & clean. Have an eye to detail on food, be able to produce some food items, knife skills & able to learn how to prep, use the slicer and keep quality and freshness to a high standard. Multi tasking is a big requirement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Taking orders in person and via telephone

Check for proper Food prep and finishing food prior to it being picked up or delivered.

Cash handling, being able to balance the drawer daily.

Under stand the service part of an open restaurant.

Great communication skills and able to handle a fast paced work environment.

Able to lift 25# and work clean & organized throughout the day.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Qualifications

Must have prior food handling experience.

Acquire and keep up to date state required licenses.

Be able to work in a fast paced restaurant.

Able to work and answer the phone during the peak lunch periods

Able to up sell food items for the restaurant, make suggestions.

Under stand the point of sale system, handle a cash bank with food coupons and making change properly.

Education and/or Experience

Prior restaurant experience, serving and order taking

Able to handle a knife for some food prep

Able to read and coordinate food ticket groupings

Cash/ticket point of sale

Good communication with back of the house, front of the house team members and staff as they come thru the line.

Organization skills

Work fast paced

Come to work on time, proper and full uniform.

Language Skills

Must be able to comprehend the English language in order to communicate with co-workers and fully understand job assignments.

Reasoning Ability

Able to handle staff complaints if there are any.

Remain calm cool and collected during peak business hours

Handle job duties with a friendly smile and a can do attitude

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Florida State food service, responsible vender requirements.
