Job Description
Job Title: PV Service Technician
Department: Operations
Reports To: Service Manager
Job Summary: The PV Service Technician is responsible for overseeing the efficient and effective repair, maintenance, and servicing of photovoltaic (PV) solar systems. This role requires a hands-on leader who can manage a service crew, ensure safety compliance, and deliver exceptional customer service. PV Service Technician will work closely with the Service Manager to plan, execute, and complete service projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Service and Maintenance:
• Perform diagnostic assessments and troubleshooting of PV systems.
Conduct repairs, replacements, and upgrades of solar panels, inverters, wiring, and other system components.
Perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal system performance.
2. Safety Compliance:
• Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and company policies.
Conduct pre-job safety briefings and site assessments.
Maintain a clean and hazard-free work environment.
3. Customer Interaction:
• Communicate effectively with customers regarding service work, timelines, and outcomes.
Address customer inquiries and concerns professionally.
4. Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain accurate records of service activities, including work orders, materials used, and labor hours.
Submit reports to the Service Manager detailing completed work and any ongoing issues.
5. Inventory and Tools Management:
• Ensure service vehicles are stocked with necessary tools, equipment, and spare parts.
Monitor and report inventory needs to management.
6. Collaboration:
• Coordinate with other departments to address complex service issues.
Provide feedback to the engineering and installation teams to improve system design and installation practices.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in solar energy or electrical systems preferred.
Experience with PV Systems, Inverters, Battery storage systems, AC/DC electrical troubleshooting, Preventive Maintenance (O&M)
Minimum of 3 years of experience in PV solar system maintenance and repair.
Proven leadership experience in a field service environment.
Strong knowledge of PV system components, troubleshooting techniques, and safety standards.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
NABCEP certification or equivalent is highly desirable.

Work Schedule: Full-time, with flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed.
