This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Spécialiste, Contrôle de la qualité des prêts – Approbateur(trice) based in Canada.

This is a quality-focused financial services role dedicated to ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and compliance of mortgage loan approval processes. You will play a key part in reviewing loan files and validating that approval practices meet internal standards and regulatory expectations. The role combines analytical review, risk awareness, and continuous improvement, requiring strong judgment to identify issues, investigate root causes, and support coaching opportunities. You will work independently while contributing to broader quality assurance initiatives and process enhancements within the lending function. This position also involves collaboration with internal teams to ensure alignment on quality standards and operational performance. It is an opportunity to contribute directly to the integrity and reliability of mortgage lending processes within a structured and detail-oriented environment.

Accountabilities:
  • Review mortgage loan files and approval processes to ensure compliance with internal standards and quality requirements.
  • Execute quality control assessments to verify accuracy, consistency, and efficiency in lending decisions and documentation.
  • Identify errors or process gaps, analyze root causes, and support corrective actions and coaching initiatives.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by recommending enhancements to processes, controls, and workflows.
  • Apply sound judgment to detect issues, resolve discrepancies, and ensure adherence to established policies and guidelines.
  • Work independently while maintaining alignment with broader team objectives and operational priorities.
  • Support reporting and documentation of quality findings to inform business decisions and improvements.
  • Perform additional related duties as required to support evolving business needs.
Requirements:
  • 2–5 years of relevant professional experience in financial services, lending, or mortgage-related roles.
  • Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in mortgage lending or loan approval processes is considered a strong asset.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills in both French and English (bilingualism required).
  • Ability to work independently in a structured and regulated environment.
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills, with the ability to interact effectively across teams.
  • Good judgment and ability to interpret policies, identify issues, and apply appropriate solutions.
