Job Description

Senior Mobile Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Mobile Engineer based in United States.

This role offers full ownership of a brand-new mobile product surface that will define how travel advisors interact with a fast-growing platform in real time. You will be responsible for building and evolving a hybrid mobile application that combines native functionality with embedded web experiences, supported by robust backend APIs. This is a high-impact, zero-to-one engineering role where your decisions will directly shape product direction, architecture, and user experience. You will work closely with product, design, and engineering peers in a fast-paced environment focused on weekly shipping and continuous iteration. The role requires strong technical breadth across mobile and backend systems, as well as the ability to operate with high autonomy. You will also help define engineering standards, release processes, and production reliability practices for the mobile domain. This is a deeply ownership-driven position where your work will be used directly by end users from day one.

Accountabilities:
  • Own the end-to-end development of the mobile application, including native shell, hybrid interfaces, embedded web views, and supporting Rails APIs.
  • Design and build mobile features that enable travel advisors to manage bookings, client communication, and trip operations from their mobile devices.
  • Develop and extend backend APIs required for mobile functionality, ensuring tight integration between frontend and backend systems.
  • Establish mobile engineering foundations, including release pipelines, app store deployment processes, crash reporting, and production monitoring.
  • Define reusable patterns for hybrid development and web-view integration to enable scalable team-wide development.
  • Ship production-ready features on a weekly cadence while maintaining high standards of quality, testing, and reliability.
  • Monitor production performance and proactively identify, diagnose, and resolve issues impacting end users.
  • Collaborate closely with product and design partners to translate ambiguous requirements into shipped functionality.
  • Contribute to engineering best practices, including code quality, review standards, and system design decisions.
  • Leverage AI tools to accelerate development, debugging, and iteration while applying strong technical judgment.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in mobile engineering with demonstrated ownership of at least one mobile application shipped to App Store and/or Google Play.
  • Strong experience working across mobile and backend systems, including building or extending APIs supporting mobile applications.
  • Proficiency in either native or hybrid mobile development, with the ability to make pragmatic architecture decisions.
  • Proven ability to operate independently in ambiguous environments and deliver end-to-end product outcomes.
  • Experience with production mobile operations, including releases, monitoring, and post-launch maintenance.
  • Strong understanding of system design, application architecture, and trade-offs between native and web-based solutions.
  • Comfortable working in backend environments such as Ruby on Rails or similar MVC frameworks.
  • High ownership mindset with a track record of shipping meaningful product surfaces without heavy direction.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across product, design, and engineering teams.
  • Practical experience using AI tools to improve engineering velocity and decision-making.
  • Bonus: experience in startups, high-growth environments, or building products from zero to one.
Benefits:
  • Competitive salary with equity participation
  • Full benefits package including health, dental, and vision coverage
  • Remote-first work environment
  • Flexible PTO and supportive, people-first culture
  • Opportunity to define and shape a net-new mobile product from the ground up
  • High-impact ownership with direct influence on product direction
  • Collaborative engineering culture focused on weekly shipping and continuous improvement
  • Strong emphasis on learning, autonomy, and technical growth
  • Equity opportunities aligned with company growth
