Commissioning Intern at Cushing Terrell. This is an in-person internship supporting our Commissioning team on real client projects.
What does this role involve day to day? You will learn the entire commissioning process from start to finish, reviewing construction documents and gaining hands-on experience testing HVAC equipment using building automation systems.
What will I create? You will help develop commissioning documentation using commissioning-specific software, and support clients and contractors in closing out high-performance projects.
What does success look like in this internship? You will participate in site visits throughout construction and the testing phase, build a working understanding of automation, HVAC, and building performance systems, and leave with a clear picture of what it means to work in the AEC industry.
Position Wage Range*The expected wage range for this position is $21.00 to $26.00 per hour.
Required Qualifications**- Completion of 3+ years of a mechanical engineering or related undergraduate program
- Basic understanding of HVAC systems
- Basic knowledge of Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and Bluebeam
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn and adapt
- Ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with team members across disciplines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Exposure to building automation systems
- Interest in the commissioning process or high-performance building systems
- Familiarity with commissioning-specific software
- Interest in construction document review

Things to Note*Actual pay will be determined based on the candidate's years of experience, licensure status, location, level of proficiency, and other job-related factors (as permitted by law). This position is also eligible for an annual performance bonus.
