Accountabilities
  • Prepare comprehensive credit memorandums and supporting documentation for commercial loan approval and decision-making.

  • Review borrower and guarantor documentation to confirm alignment with approved loan terms and compliance with internal lending policies.

  • Analyze financial statements and pro forma financial information using trend analysis, ratio analysis, cash-flow analysis, industry benchmarks, and relevant macroeconomic and industry trends.

  • Evaluate pledged collateral and determine its suitability in accordance with internal credit policies and industry best practices.

  • Review and interpret third-party commercial appraisal reports, Phase I environmental reports, title insurance commitments and policies, and insurance documentation.

  • Produce clear, thorough written analyses summarizing key findings, risks, opportunities, and financial considerations related to prospective borrowers and guarantors.

  • Partner with senior credit leadership on all aspects of the participated commercial loan portfolio.

  • Contribute to the refinement of lending policies, procedures, and processes while maintaining awareness of applicable state and federal regulations governing commercial lending.

  • Develop and improve portfolio reports, tracking tools, and monitoring mechanisms to support effective oversight of commercial loans.

  • Coordinate the Annual Term Loan Review process, monitor required covenants, and work with loan officers to obtain borrower financial reporting and other required documentation on schedule.

  • Mentor and support junior credit team members while collaborating across departments to achieve both immediate priorities and longer-term objectives.

  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, automation, reporting, and credit processes while maintaining strong risk management standards.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline is strongly preferred.

  • At least 5 years of experience in commercial banking, with a minimum of 5 years of direct credit analysis and commercial underwriting experience.

  • Strong financial analysis and credit underwriting capabilities, including experience evaluating cash flow, financial ratios, trends, collateral, and industry conditions.

  • Deep familiarity with commercial loan documentation and third-party reports, including appraisals, environmental assessments, title documentation, and insurance materials.

  • Strong knowledge of commercial lending practices and the ability to stay current with applicable state and federal regulations.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and customer-service skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and professionally.

  • Strong critical-thinking, decision-making, integrity, flexibility, and problem-solving skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships across departments and work effectively with stakeholders at different organizational levels.

  • Self-directed and improvement-oriented, with a willingness to identify inefficiencies, embrace automation, and challenge existing processes constructively.

  • Formal commercial credit analysis training through organizations such as ABA, Moody’s, or RMA is preferred; relevant credit-risk certifications are a plus.

  • Experience with nCino or comparable loan origination platforms is preferred.

  • Community banking or credit union experience is advantageous.

  • Reliable attendance and the ability to work independently in a remote environment are required.

  • Compensation range of $33–$50 per hour, adjusted based on geographic location and market factors.

  • Low-cost employee medical contributions.

  • Dental and vision coverage with zero employee contributions.

  • 401(k) retirement plan with a dollar-for-dollar employer match up to 5%.

  • Generous paid time off program.

  • Opportunities for professional development and continued learning.

  • Collaborative, inclusive, and supportive work environment.

  • Opportunities to contribute to process improvements, automation, and strategic initiatives.
